GMJ,
>The bar that you use, what diameter is it? <
It’s a wooden bar, .75”, and a t-shirt wrapped round it for padding.
>It is interesting because the the 6kg’s of weight last week I could handle quite confortably but last night for instance I did my set of SO at 6.0kg and I had a massive shaft stretching feeling right throught the set from the get go. <
Good, that’s progress.
>I think my dick with SO may be starting to fatigue a little because all the way through the set I could not concentrate on what I was doing because of the massive pulling feeling I was expereincing. I guess I was clock watching. Not because of pain mind you but because of what I think I may have reached’ “FATIGUE” <
Legs twitching, teeth gritting, getting hotter, maybe even sweating etc.
>I have diffinitlely reached a fatigue level with SO tonight. <
Do you mean without the fulcrum? If so, stick with it, because adding the fulcrum might put stress on a different area.
>So I did. I dropped 0.5kg (1pd) off. This gives me 5.5 kg in SO position. I apply the weight and it felt good but then within minutes again I am back feeling like I was at 6kg. <
That is good, take another pound off. Continue in this manner until you are at total fatigue (half your max of 6kg), then try another angle, such as OTL. The next session, start with SO until you get down to half again before switching. Over time you will be able to ride the fatigue and get to total fatigue in a few sets, giving you more time blasting another angle.
>Well I am off to do the second set of the night and will start at 5.5 kg but I expect I am going to drop the weight down very soon into the set. <
Sometimes the next day I can’t hang max again. This is pretty much guaranteed after a month or two. In the beginning you might well be able to go back up to 6kg the next day, give it a shot for the first set, if it is too much take some weight off. Some guys that use weight plates have each one hooked on with a seperate rope, so it is easier to change weights.
Also you might be quite sore on the first set and then be fine with the same weight for the next set, I think this is because you are ‘undo-ing’ the healing that took place since the last session.
