Stretching or hanging?

Stretching or hanging?

If I would like to do a lot of length workout hanging would be preferable over stretches or what do you think?
Hanging has much more advantages in my opinion like:

-being able to do something different in the workout time
-being able to do a lot of workout without getting tired hands or becoming enerved by the dedication that stretching needs

What advantage should stretching (manual) have??


My goal: from 11.9 cm NBPEL to 18 cm NBPEL (~7 ") ...now or never...!!!! after 5 weeks(and a long break): 12.5 cm NBPEL

The only advantage manual stretch may have is the freedom. You can do it at home or in your office toilet. You can divide your wokout into shorter sessions. You don’t have to give 10 minute breaks for every 20 minutes of hanging. I definitely prefer manual stretching for these obvious advantages. The only problem in immitating the hanging while downward stretching is to resist arm tiredness. The longer duration you stretch, the better plastic deformation in your ligs and tunica, the closer effect to hanging.

Short duration, but frequent stretching instead of long duration hanging is similar to sampling of an analog signal with a sufficiently high sampling rate. :)

I agree with teoman. Hanging is king if you have the time and privacy, but if not, the freedom of manual stretches will let you fit a routine in ‘on the sly’.

Of course some people do manual routines through choice and make good gains.
