Why I Prefer Glans Hangers

First off, go slow and be smart about what you do. I have learned a lot from this site, but not all of the information is good, true or safe. A lot of PE is a self journey to find what is effective for you, not the other guy. No two journeys will be the same. Likely your experiences and results will be different.

If I was just starting out, I would do a very light hanging routine for a couple of months. I would chose hanging because you could read this forum the whole time and start to plan out your next program; hanging, manuals, extender, pump, etc. You would also have more information on do’s and don’t (s). I think you would also see who to choose to trust for information. When I see major growth in a short time or some new whatever program, I like to look at the Poster’s stats and frequency of site participation to gauge how serious their post is. Most new, great, massive gains are posted, then little to no change in stats, then offline. Just consider that for your journey.

My first weight was a 28 oz ADS. It attached around the glans (term noose is negative). Have had no issues with it. Then I built a simple hanger using that as a model. Have had no issues with that, and have been using it since 2019.

Benefits: so simple, easy, quick on and off and no wrapping.

Three tricks for effectiveness: Match the tube diameter with your Glans Ridge, proper length is between 2/3 and 3/4 circumference (just behind the Glans) and adjust both of these as you grow.

I like the keep it simple style you promote. Im nearing my fuzzy goal and am always thinking about semi-retirement and this is one idea I’ll keep in mind.

How much have you grown since adopting this style in 2019? There’s only a recent measurement in your stats and I’m really curious about efficacy, even if slow but steady over time.

I dabbled in PE for many years bouncing between 6.75 and a little over 7. I think I kept gaining and losing the same amount. In 2019 I found TP and started to get organized. I read a lot and started taking notes etc. My organization and efforts progressed a little each year. However, I had a lot of things that pulled me away. In 2019, my records show me at 6.75.

I found a good routine and developed a detailed spreadsheet in 2022 and probably had 6 good months of work and gains that year. Took too much time off in 2023. In 2024 I decided to gain a little more so I jumped back on the wagon. In reviewing all of my data from 2022 onward, I realized that I gained .75 inches in 180 days of effort (all be it over 2+ years).

Realizing that I figured that I should give it a consistent year or two and see where it goes. So I decided that I would finally do some posts and put up my current stats. I figure that I would do updates on the stats every 3ish months. Hopefully with my stats posted and some threads and posting, I can meet my consistency goal (whatever the ruler will show at that time).

Kudos. That is great and I bet a lot of guys with the patience to take a long view would be inspired to follow your lead.

Last question, just for curiosity. You have 6 inch MEG, also impressive. Was there girth enlargement from your simple hanging technique or are you naturally girthy?

I use the low weight ADS mostly for warm ups and cool downs. I try to get an hour with it afterwards. My main program is hanging with the hanger shown above. But I have a lot of PE devices and use them when I need a change. I found that I need some variety for sanity sake and it might be a change that spurs some growth. I also found hanging to be better for me than the other forms of PE.

Girth-wise I have not changed much. I also did not measure much either. I do jelq for about 5 minutes at the end of my hanging session, but my focus has always been for length.

So the parts for the Glans hanger are;

Silicone tubing (you can get a lot of different sizes)
Nylon cord
Draw string clamps
A piece of high density foam
A piece of low density foam

The length of the tubing is key and should be done as noted above. I have also found that the foam pieces help lock things into place as well. The blue, low density foam covers the area where the cord goes through the high density foam.

I have used this with hanging weights over 20 pounds. I have also learned that, for me, I don’t need anything near that much weight. 5-11 pounds is the sweet spot for me. This is also my “grip” for doing manuals. Since it is so simple and easy, I do some A and V fulcrums at the end of each hanging interval.

I’ve "discovered" glands hanging a few months ago. I have some very rudimentary hanging devices, similar to yours but not as well designed.
In my limited experience, I’ve come across a few issues.
1- discomfort/burning from the cord on the ridge of my glands from prolonged hanging.
2- when I attach the hanger, my glands are "fuller" in size, so as the weight hangs my glands gets smaller. So as I move around the cord tends to start to slip off. I currently have success with using up to 2.5 lbs for 2 hrs, while being very mobile before the "burn" sets in.
3- anything over the aforesaid 2.5 lbs, begins to slip off after a few minutes.

Have you experienced these issues as well? And what were your solutions?
Looking forward to your reply. This form of hanging really agrees with me, because it doesn’t exert and pressure on my frenulum, which has been an issue for me due to being uncircumcised.

I don’t have those problems with my hanger.

I am guessing that you are not using the silicone tubing. You need that.

You also need to trial and error the length of the tubing. It should be between 2/3 and 3/4 the diameter behind the glans.

My local Home Depot doesn’t have silicone tubing. They have clear vinyl tubing, which is a lot stiffer. However, you can warm it with a hair dryer or boiling water, shape it, and it will set in that shape.

Tractor Supply or farm stores are more likely to have silicone tubing, but vinyl ought to work just fine.

Another thing I like about the glans hanger is that you can use heat the whole time during the hang. I have a mini-heating pad that wraps perfectly. I got it at CVS. I have used the Total man heat pad, and heat lamps etc. but prefer the minipad. One trick I have is a small piece of plumbing pipe insulation that I put over the tip due to sensitivity. I would like a little more heat, but definitely mild heat is better than no heat.

Andy and XL are right. I started with vinyl from Home Depot. It is ok, but the silicone is much better. With the vinyl, I had to warm it up in the microwave to get a nylon cord through it. It took a bunch of different attempts. Also do several, varying the length just a bit. Having the length right is a key factor and you will have to “test fit” that yourself.

I ordered silicone tubing from eBay. Cheap and lots of size options. It grips better, is easy to cut & size and the cord goes into/through it easily. Once you have an operable one, go slow and monitor the grip and any slip issues. If there are issues, it is a tubing length problem.
