Why is my dick SHORTER after a hanging session?

Take no notice of what I said Sixer, I was just doing my financial accounts at the time :noreally: and I was a bit depressed, so I absent mindedly posted my figures in your thread :whatever:

PS Christmas is just the worst time for forming a posse, as everyone is kinda otherwise engaged and HH isn’t even around to take up the slack. Just keep plugging away, something is bound to happen eventually :star:

Oh, wait, you said “posse” :homer2:

cead mile failte :lep:

I wanted to get back to the discussion about penile “toughness” that ensues after a few hanging sets, as I may have some new insights.

I’ve just come off of a one week break from hanging, during which time my only form of PE was about 400 wet jelqs per day for 5 of the 7 days off.

When I first connected up the hanger after the break, I noticed that my penis was much more elastic than usual. It actually felt quite soft in my hands. This is generally not the case. Also, I felt a lot of discomfort resuming at the weight I had left off at, and needed to drop back about 50%. While hanging, I felt a lot more strain than usual in the tunica as well as in the ligs (hanging BTC).

We know that it takes a long time for collagen to break down in the body, so how can we explain the sudden apparent weakening of the tissues? What could have changed in just a week’s time?

Perhaps it wasn’t the collagen at all, but rather the smooth muscle within the CCs, which was affected? As we know, the trabeculae, which criss-cross the insides of the CCs, consist of collagen, elastin, and smooth muscle. Perhaps this muscle lost its “tone” during the break, causing the entire structure to weaken? Certainly, one can intuitively see that a structure with tense muscles is stronger than one with lax muscles.

If it is true that smooth muscle tensing creates the “toughness” that interferes with gains, a new angle for improving PE gains may be to relax the smooth muscle.

How could this be done? I believe certain drugs are marketed as “muscle relaxants.” Could these be helpful? What of other products, systemic or topical? I’m hoping the pharmaceutical folks can please speak up.

I just learned that Caverject is a smooth muscle relaxant. Apparently (being a dumb shit I didn’t know this), the smooth muscle of the CC’s must relax for there to be an erection.

Relaxation of smooth muscle is necessary for erection, but is it sufficient? In other words, can you inject Caverject to relax the muscles without getting an erection? Is arousal also required?

Lack of erection is important to me because I’m hanging. For you guys working on girth it may not be as much of an issue.

A more general statement derived from the above is that our collective focus on collagen fibers may be misplaced. We almost never talk about the smooth muscle in the penis and its role in helping/hindering gains. Maybe it’s time we give that some consideration. Any ideas?

Faust,

Read this thread, I think it will give you some new ways of looking at this problem in order to find the answer.

When I have made great gains, I…

Basically it indicates how to set up a program designed to start you at a modest baseline force that ISN’T causing a net reactive tissue contraction due to more damage than recovery.

Then using PHYSIOLOGICAL INDICATORS you then gradually adjust your program until to get the right damage to recovery ratio, which should allow you to start making gains.

Shrinkage is a very strong indicator of a reactive tissue contraction due to trauma. It is only bad if you re-damage it before it has had a chance to repair and grow.

Read the thread, then post any questions that you need clarificaton on.

Good luck,
Sparkyx

Bump. Any takers for the smooth muscle idea?
