Hi Everyone,
I’m new here and was debating whether I should throw my two cents in or not. I figured what the hey. I am not new to pe, however. I have been jelqing and stretching for better than a year. Avocet8, I read your piece on how to pump safely. I found it very inspirational and it took away most of my fears about pumping. I have been thinking about it for some time now, but was afraid to try it because of all the horror stories I’ve read on the Internet (complete with pictures) about over doing it. It was your thread (pumping 101) that convinced me to buy a pump. Your post was well thought out and very helpful. It is obvious that you are very knowledgeable in the subject, and I thank you.
Now, for I came here to say. I have researched the subject of pumping pretty extensively and I read that it’s not a good idea to pump with water because it softens the tissues which will cause blood blisters, bruising, etc.
It makes a lot of sense to me that this is probably true. Think about it, when you put your hands in warm water for a period of time your hands and fingers get wrinkled and kind of soft and mushy feeling. I would think that softened tissue under pressure, even at a low pressure, would at the very least, cause bruising. Gimmie, you might want to research water pumping a little before you try it. I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt. This is just my opinion. I am no expert by any means. I haven’t even started pumping yet. It just seems to make sense to me that you could get hurt water pumping, even if you do it safely. It’s something to think about anyway.
