Do Not Buy Pumps Or Cylinders From This Guy

I recently just purchased the setup from him. I got it today and it was opened. There was an attempt to seal the package with scotch tape. I opened up easily, and it smelled like MOTOR OIL. It had MOTOR OIL all over the pump, cylinder, and hose! Definitely used. To top it off the coupling was busted and would not even seal, so the hose would not stay connected to the cylinder. After numerous attempts to contact him, he has failed to respond. Save yourself the money and buy from someone else. Here is the package it came in and you can see the motor oil!

Are you sure that it isn’t brake fluid you smell?

brake fluid, maybe. I know it’s the same pump you can buy at HF, but still, it shouldn’t be dripping all over the place. But still, it’s all over the place and was nasty. The thing is useless. Since i’m screwed on this, now i need a cylinder and couplings so more money spent on my end

Was it an e-bay purchase? If you bught it from an e-bay dealer then it would be worth making a complaint to e-bay

My bet is that, if he is dealing the same type of stuff, he is buying at auction the returns/rejects from a large automotive store like Pepboys or such. I used to buy scratched hitches and receivers still in the wrapping that were missing a single bolt or such. They were $200 new each and I bought them by the dozen for $7 a piece cash once a month. Often stuff is used and returned by cheapshits. So, I believe that to be the possible solution to what goes on.
