How Slowly To Increase Pump Duration?

I have been considering following the pumping 101 beginner routine since it has a nice little progression, but I also thought about taking it slower and adding 5 minutes per week.
I was either going 5 minutes per week or increasing the pumping 101 program every two weeks to see if I gain. If I gain, I’ll stick with the duration until it stops.

Is there any additional benefit to increasing time in the pump slowly, or am I just wasting time trying to get to my sweet spot with gains?

The idea of increasing slowly is to allow your penis some time to adjust to the new regime. Some guys can adapt more quickly, some more slowly. Just watch your PIs and adjust accordingly.


Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

My recommendation would be to start with five minutes and increase time under vacuum by one minute a week until you reach 20 minutes. Also slowly increase the vacuum level from 3 hg to 5 hg. You can then add a second 20 minute session at a different time in the day - one in am and another in pm. Then substitute in a 45 minute session at 4 hg.

If I have good PI’S regardless how do I know if I passed up gains? For example if I potentially gains from 20 minutes but I increase to 25 and still have good PI’S, I would be passing up potential growth.

Are you supposed to increase until you have a negative PI, then fall back a little and try to straddle the line where it’s just enough? If that makes sense.

I dont think it is a matter of passing up potential gains, but one of most efficient time to achieve those gains.

Let’s assume someone in a best case situation could achieve 1/2” gain in 6 months. If they were more cautious in adjusting their pump program it might take them 7 months to get there. However, if one tried to go too fast and was very aggressive they could cause an injury which could take days and weeks to recover from. A blister on the glans from over pumping can take 2 weeks to 6 weeks or more to recover from. Do that a couple times and you’re into 8-9-10 months to get the 1/2” length gain.

The reality is we do not know what the optimum or bast case situation is so we don’t really know if 6 months (example timeline) is what we need to work towards. We do know that injuries will impair our work so I suggest we need to focus on avoiding an injury.

Thank you for the additional insight. I’m going to increase by 5min every two weeks and see how that goes for me. I’ll pump 5on/2off at 5hg.
