What is the maximum duration you stay in pump?

What is the maximum duration you stay in pump?

It is believed that 20 mins is in the safe margins however when I exceed that (25-27 mins), I get a much better expansion. What if I go for 40-45 mins sessions? Is that really a no, no? Are there pumpers here who stay in the pump for those durations?

The secret to great results with longer sessions is using lower pressure. I like to go for 30 to 40 minutes using 3 to 3.5”hg pressure. This results in great expansion with very low to no trauma and avoiding trauma yields the best results.

Once out of the pump I put on my broccoli band cock ring and maintain my erection and size with a long edging session to help lock in the expansion.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Avocet8, who is one of the gods of pumping around here, says he got his best gains from shorter (8-10 min) sets. When you talk about getting greater expansion; do you mean expansion of your unit inside the cylinder or after the pumping session?

Inside the cylinder. The longer 30 to 40 minute trauma free sessions are possible because of the lower pressures I use. My results using this method are the best so far over my long pumping career.

There are those who stay in the cylinder (not the pump) that long and longer.

(There are also those who have a session of that length, but who come out of the tube from time to time during the session to jelq or do light massage.)

Sta-kool mentions, in a recent post, something that I have mentioned before (Lampwick - Vacuum Pumping 101; Lampwick - Soft when I exit pump) about reducing pressure periodically in the course of your session:

He does an experiment of set time and pressure cycling that you might find interesting.

I have settled on 30 to 40 minutes, cycling pressure every 5 minutes. That is — 5 mins at 3hg, 1 minute at 1hg, rinse and repeat.

One of the advantages of coming out of the tube entirely and doing a little light massage is that you can feel (texture, temperature), and better see, just what is happening to your unit in the course of your session.

Safety first, of course, but some members report good results from fairly short sessions, and others show better expansion only from longer sessions. My advice is, if you’re going to go longer, be careful, give your dick a break periodically during the session, and keep evaluating what you’re seeing and feeling.

Apologies qprent for not making it clear, but my question was for Cyclope! Thanks anyway for your input, your posts, especially on pumping, always make excellent reading.

I’m not as much of a hardcore pumper as some of the guys here, I use it mostly to improve blood flow and perhaps get a little bit of extra expansion to aid in jelqing and manual stretches. It’s not my primary PE method, but I do consider it to be an important support technique.

That being said I want to minimize discoloration and fluid buildup so the longest I will go is 9 minutes at a time, generally I keep it under 8 as that seems to be the point where I get diminishing returns.

It took me a while to figure that out and I recommend you carefully experiment to find what works best for you.
