Injury Caution...

Injury Caution...

I thought it might be heipful to alert beginners or anyone else who hasn’t (yet?) experienced it, of some of the debilitating and even dangerous effects pumping can cause if one isn’t careful.

I’ve been using a pump on and off for about 5 years and started without any useful instruction. I had to learn the hard way. Some of this may seem obvious to some, but if you aren’t aware of what CAN happen you can easily push too far from over-zealousness.

1. Pain is bad. If it hurts, release the pressure. Your dick is a delicate organ. Its not like developing your biceps. The first result of too much pressure is blisters on your glans. If your glans starts to sting, back off the pressure. The stinging is the beginning of a blister. Also if you leave the pressure on for too long a blister can rise.
If you get a blister, quit. The damage is done and more pumping will only make it worse. I’ll break the bubble to let out the puss, and wash it. It will sting. I clear away the loose skin and immediately apply Neosporin to help it heal and keep it from drying out. Keep applying neosporin daily, it really speeds up the healing process. Healing takes about 2 weeks and its a good idea not to pump during that time. Blisters are very unsightly while they are healing, but eventually they will disappear completely.

2. Don’t leave the pressure on for more that 5 or 10 mins. max. This is a biggie. In my beginning over-zealousness I would leave the pressure on for 20 to even 40 mins. This did not last long. I soon discovered small hard lumps along my dorsal vein and around the base of my glans. In a few days this developed into a full-fledged infection. My dick became sore and red and started to swell up. A couple days later it was obvious I was in trouble so I went to a urologist and told him what I was doing. He said that the blood trapped under pressure for so long caused white blood cells to collect and congest the veins. This created the infection.
He put me on strong anit-biotics for a couple of weeks. He said, left untreated for long could have caused major complications, and possibly led to amputation. He may have been trying to scare me but I believe it considering the condition my dick was in at the time.
This whole experience cost me $500.00 in doctor visits and medication, not to mention the embarrasement.

In short, continually release the pressure every few minutes, or pump while continually leaking pressure.

3. prolonged pumping causes swelling around the foreskin just below the glans. To help reduce this I have read that wrapping the area before and during pumplng helps. I use a 1” elastic band sewn in a loop. It seems to help.

I’m sure there are other possible mishaps, but these are the ones I am familiar with. It has taught me to become much more conservative with my pumping regimen.

On a side note, I’m not convinced that pumping creates any substantial gains. In 5 years I have not seen so much as a mm gain in length, and possibly a small gain in girth. I use it now as an addition to my jelq routine to provide some stretching. In the short time I have tried jelqing i find it provides much more noticable gains that appear to remain. I haven’t jelqed long enough to confirm if it is legitimate, but it seems to be working.

Overall I would say that pumping alone is not worth the expense, time, and effort. The equipment is expensive and you have to hide it from house guests and friends, and possibly from judgmental wives or girlfriends.
Jelqing can be done anywhere (in private), it doesn’t cost anything, and all you need are your own 2 hands.

I’m sure there will be serious dissenters to this post, and I’m interested in hearing them.

tinytim;

Thanks for that cautionary post.

The only issue you mention that is debateable is that if pumping alone can create substantial gains. Clearly it did for at least a few of us here who pumped (only) prior to discovering manual PE exercises. I still have that first inch in length I got when I was pumping but doing absolutely no manual work. I do agree with you completely that pumping along with manual work is the way to go.

The infection experience must have been frightening but I’m glad to hear it resolved without your having life-long damage.

The usual, medically sound rule - both in high pressure/long-time pumping and in wearing shaft cock rings during an erection - is that 30 minutes is the limit for preventing newly-oxiginated blood from entering. Beyond that and one takes the very serious chance of bringing on random cell death, then tissue death.

Thanks for the information.

I never maintain high vacuum for long any length of time. Despite what others say or claim.

I personally vacuum until a strong yet comfortable stretching is felt and then release pressure and check for any progress.

I personally let the tissues and blood flow return to normal a few seconds and produce the same vacuum again sometimes a little more.

This is done carefully several times within 5 -12 minutes approximately. 7 1/4” flaccid after practicing 30 years of vacuum erection cylinder technology. 1 1/2” gained.
