Need advice on this pump

Actually, moreso the cylinder. I need to upsize, and while this one might be a bit more than what I need, I’m a cheap ass….I will admit it. I can get this unit for just $17 plus shipping because of a promotion code I have to Adam & Eve’s website. I have a good pump from Harbor Freight that I can use instead of the bulb that comes with it. Any thoughts from the more experienced guys out there?

I’ve owned a cylinder and pump similar to this setup, back in the early 90’s. The sharp edges of the base of the tube were an issue. The sleeve tore on me within minutes. Having said that, it’s probably similar to the “gravel cleaner” tube so many guys have reported success with.

You might have difficulty retrofitting your Harbor Freight pump to it, but for $17 it’s worth a shot. It also has gotten good reviews on the site. What’s the shipping cost like?

Well, I’m looking to pick up something for the wifey too, so with the two items I’m looking at, shipping is about $7. Plus, if the sleave rips, I’ll do what I did with my gravel cleaner, and that’s put a bead of silicone around the rim. That has worked great with my current setup.

I’d junk the sleeve right away and just use the silicone if it was me.

Got the pump….and it hooks up perfectly with the hose that comes with the pump from harbor freight. I thought I might have to get creative with it, but not one bit.

Still getting used to the sleeve, though. I cut some of it back, because it was too tight, oddly enough. Once I perfect it, I’ll post more about it. But for $18, hard to beat it.
