hello,

Been looking into putting safety features on pumps and have the following:

Silicone sleeve to prevent balls being sucked into the tube (Ebay search penis pump silicone sleeve)
USB powered mitten to put over penis whilst pumping, this heats the penis during the pumping process
Pressure gauge (allows viewing of the pressure) the Mustang pumps do this well

I would like to add a pressure relief valve to the setup, this prevents the pressure from accidentally being exceeded, they do sell them off of Ebay does anyone know what the pressure (in Pa, or PSI) range is for most pumps?

Also I was looking into automating the pumping process so you could sleep whilst pumping, I am not doing this anymore

Why would you need such a thing if you have a gauge? Just watch the gauge as you pump, and if you overshoot your target a little, tap the release trigger to back off a bit. It’s not like the vacuum is going to somehow increase on it’s own and catch you by surprise.

Ah, I recommend you take a look at some of the threads in the pumping forum. There are really good guides there like Vacuum Pumping 101 as well as recommendations of equipment (Read: Harbour freight pump).

A pump that has a gauge is perfectly sufficient and safe so long as you don’t fall asleep with it. The best way to not have your balls get sucked in is to get a correct sized cylinder, see Selecting Your Cylinder Size.

I was initially going to say this, but then I’m sure there’s vacuum pressure releases too, to allow air in. You might even be able to reverse a regular pressure release valve, maybe. Depends on the valve I guess.

First and foremost (a vacuum is negative pressure by the way so they are on the same scale) I am trying to put safety features into the pumping system. A vacuum relief valve is a good way to do this. Secondly I have read Vacuum Pumping 101 and although useful did not have anything I did not know.

Thirdly the best way of not getting your balls sucked into the tube is to purchase a silicone sleeve cover for the tube, this covers the tube completely except for a small opening which the penis goes through.
It is impossible (unless the silicone sleeve does not fit the tube or comes loose) for your balls to get sucked into the tube, and so is far better than getting the right tube.

I would like to know how to install a vacuum relief valve, this prevents the vacuum from exceeding a set value. This is a safety feature, and means that I do not have to watch the gauge as I have other things to do (such as my degree).

Now, if you know the answer to the question: do you know of an appropriate vacuum relief valve?

I’m sure a silicone sleeve may help - I’m not seeing how it’s better than getting the right tube since the right tube will sit at the base of your body more effectively.

For the most part with pumping you can pump it up to say 4 hg and then leave it for 5 or 10 minutes or indefinitely, that’s with a gauge, which takes a few seconds to look at during the beginning of pumping and maybe a few minutes into a session. That’s it, twice.

Why don’t you go order a tube and a pump and try it out for yourself first. Then get back to us once you have had a few months experience. Don’t be a know it all without ever trying it NOOB.

Maybe finish this candy bar before you open another one.

I think I kind of get what you are going for here jack1015. You seem to want to build a system you can just throw on and not have to think about, not having to pay attention to gauges and carefully pumping to the right pressure each time, yet getting consistent results each time.

I have no experience pumping, but it seems to me that after a while the process of getting everything into place will become second nature, and not as much of a procedure as it may seem like at the start.

I don’t think that a relief valve is a bad idea in theory, but I think the money you would have to spend to get a vacuum relief valve that would perform consistently at such a precise level of performance, would far out weigh the effort of having to check a gauge a couple times while pumping.

A relief valve on a manual timer in case you fall asleep might be a more practical pursuit to round out your system? Just thinking out loud.

It’s kind of pumping up your tire, you do it, and if you have a good seal you forget it and set a timer for however long your session is. If you spend 15 seconds a session checking your pressure, then that’s 90 minutes in a year, and I don’t imagine it being more than a third of that time. The amount of time spent locating, finding, and testing a pressure release system would exceed that.

Jack, although safety comes first, having a vacuum pressure release valve on a system equipped with a gauge is like wearing a belt and suspenders. It is unnecessarily redundant.

If you want to automate the pumping process, look into electric programmable pumps. However, since you seem to be obsessed with safety, why would you want to pump while sleeping?

Your point about using a silicone sleeve at the base is indeed a good idea for preventing “ball suck up” and makes a lot of sense. I had a VelSeal tube with a silicone base and it was the most comfortable cylinder I ever used and never had a ball sucked in. However, it was also a properly sized tube. If you are concerned with safety, go for both - sizing and cushioning.

A vacuum is not ‘negative pressure’; if you really want to get technical, you are measuring a relative decrease from ambient atmospheric pressure.

Second, are you planning on pumping with a hand pump or a electric pump? Either way, I am puzzled by your interest in a vacuum relief valve. I have never - never pumped with a hand pump, achieved my desired vacuum level and had it spontaneously increase after that. If anything, it would decrease as my penis expanded in the chamber (lessening the vacuum) or as the relative vacuum slowly bled away, presumably from small leaks in the system.

I have pumped with an electric pump as well, and again, have never had a spontaneous increase in vacuum during the session. Never.

If you really want to put safety features into the pumping system, don’t stop with a vacuum relief valve. You might want to install seat belts so that you don’t fall out of your chair and onto your dick during your session. I mean, as your penis size expands during your session, it may throw your center of gravity forward and spontaneously hurl you out of your chair and onto the floor.

You might want to install shoulder harnesses as well.

He is trying to design and build an electric pump that will continuously pump every few minutes and release pressure at a preset 3-5hg. The only thing is HE DOESN’T EVEN OWN A PUMP AND HAS NEVER USED ONE! This is just a ridiculous plan based on theory and not trial and error.

Anyone with basic logic could tell him he is going to need much more than a few parts from radioshack and online. This thing would need a closed loop design, moisture filters, various electro valves,sensors, and a damn computer to turn on and off all the little functions at different times. I mean honestly this is a waste of time and good computer parts that could be used for something more productive.

You left out the seat belt and shoulder harnesses on the parts list, TheGreatDivider. :)

Oh, and I think the design really ought to include something to continuously read oxygenation in the penis. I mean, if you’re going to be safe and all.

To be realistic, most of what we think we know about PE is still based on theories.

I seem to remember reading a thread here claiming that slow increases in pressure while pumping (as opposed to pumping up to maximum pressure right from the start) resulted in a considerable increase in overall expansion of the blood vessels.

In my opinion, automating the process of slowly increasing the pressure is hardly a ridiculous plan, even if it is based on theory. After all, it’s not your money he’s spending on it.

We all have opinions, but how we express them here is what decides the reputation that Thunder’s Place gets. Maybe Jack1015 has said something in another thread that I don’t know about, but this aggression seems a little uncalled for by what I’m reading on this thread.
