Pumping Cylinder Sources!
I recently moved to the Austin area, and yesterday I went out to some “adult” stores looking around for cylinders. What a waste. Nobody seems to know what you’re talking about, they always point you to those crappy little ones they have, and nobody seems to stock them. Some of the clerks were even a little rude, as if they were offended by the thought or that I was “making them think” a little bit. Oh well, I guess that would be a pretty depressing job to have, really.
I know you aren’t going to find stuff like that “just anywhere” but does anyone know of a place by Austin or San Antonio? I’m new here and don’t know my way around the scene.
Alternatively, I would like to propose that we make this a thread for “sources of cylinders”. Whenever you run across a new place, just take a second and paste it in here.
I have already found a source for the pump. Someone mentioned in a previous thread that Sears has them, so I went and took a look. Sure enough! For 70 bucks you get a really nice pump in a carrying case, with all the goodies needed to bleed your brakes as well. Do a search in the Tools department for Sears item #00947835000 and you will find it. I called the big local Sears store and they have plenty in stock. Does this look like the appropriate unit, to you guys?
Well, I’ll start it off here, with a link that I found:
This place has tapered cylinders:
What do you guys think of the tapered cylinders?
