Pumping frequency

Pumping frequency

I know we are all different with regards to what gives us gains but how many days a week do you pump?

I read that Peforeal typically pumped 3-4 times a week for an hour or so at low HG.

Some others pump 5 on 2 off.

I have the time to pump 7 days a week but is that a bad idea?

Is 1 on 1 off better or 2 on 1 off or 3 on 1 off?

This is something I would like to know also.

I’m to weeks into my low pressure regime(2-5Hg), and have pumped almost every day for at least an hour.
Something tells me that this is a bit to much, all though I don’t get any fluid build up or discoloration.

I also bought a heat pad that gives me great girth expansion, but I’m not sure if this should be used on the last set. Thinking of cooling down the tissue in an extended state.

Hope someone of the vets could explain a bit about trauma line and healing time from pumping, and maybe recommend a proper routine for low pressure pumping.

Length of sets and pause, and total time under tension for each work out.

Ditto. This is my central question about pumping also. Something tells me that there is no standard answer, that dicks come not only in different sizes and shapes, but also with different responses to stress. I’ve communicated with guys who swear by a higher hg regimen with grueling schedules and attribute massive girth gains to this type of routine. Meanwhile, I’ve heard from other guys that this weakened their erections (I’m one of these guys) and made it hard for them to sustain that type of routine. They opted for the longer time, lower hg approach. I guess I’m still trying to figure out what type of promise pumping holds for me as I’m primarily interested in girth. I know the high pressure stuff is out for me. So it really comes down to the question of how many days and how many breaks are optimal for me to make gains without negative PIs.

I have been trying everyday low pressure 1 hour workouts for quite some time now and have recently concluded that for myself, it turns out to be just a little bit too much. I am just now getting into a 7 day routine where I go 2 on 1 off, 3 on 1 off and the rest days are definitely helping. I am also keeping my pressure on even a lower restiction with 4”hg my limit, although I spend 99% of my time just below 3.5”hg. I figure it is best to use the lowest pressure for the maximum expansion and with three 20 minute sets, I get just as large using the 3.5”hg as I did using between 4 and 5”hg and the trauma is lower.

When you think about it, it is best to be able to get as large as possible on the least amount of pressure as the goal after all is to be post pump size in the future using no pressure at all. :)

Right now I am going to try and pump pretty much everyday. I’m a newbie though, but I’ve read a lot, and I think my dick is pretty strong. I think I’m a hard-gainer and pretty much need to be in an expanded pumped state everyday in order for me to see gains. Granted I haven’t tried any routine like 1 day on and 1 day off or 1 day on and 2 days off, but in my head, I just do not see that type of routine working for me.

I say as long as you’re not gettin lymph build-up, you should be able to pump everyday. In my case, I am a newbie and can pump for 15 minutes at 4-5 HG and I don’t get any lymph buildup at all.

I am testing the less is more approach by doing 1 on 2 off. Too soon to report anything but it worked/works for a couple of my team members. I will report any gains in either length or girth.

The routine I am following consists of; 5min rice sock warm up, 100 pulsating stretches (nothing magic, just stretch, relax for 1sec and stretch again, kind of like JAI-stretches) and 3 rotary stretches to each side with a vacuum head piece for grip aid, 3 x 15min pumping sets at 4HG with a heated tube and 50 jelqs between sets.

I made this routine based of the results of my team members and the advice of gprent. Also, the electric heating pad around the tube, (thanks again gprent!), makes the whole session very enjoyable. (Can`t believe I just discovered pumping!)

Thanks gprent, that sounds treasonable.

Did you gain anything with the everyday one hour routine?

I’ve read that you contribute your gains to switching from a high to low pressure regime, but when did you first see gains after you quit high-pressure pumping. What routine did you start with?

I must also thank you for the heat pad trick, that has made things much more effective and pleasurable.

I took today off pumping as I had pumped for the last 14 days. I wanted to pump and felt up for it but thought I should take 1 or 2 days off.

I think I will try a 3 on 1 off schedule from now on.
Unlike giveme9 I do get fluid build up when I pump for longer than 10 minute sets which is a shame so I do 4 x 10 minutes at 4hg.
giveme9, I also asked about not heating for the last 1/2 of the last set because of something I read a long time ago from BIB regarding heat and hanging.

brianrex, for me using higher HG 6-8 in 2004/5 gave me little red dots which led to discolouration. I got rid of about 85% of it by using topical hydro-cortisone cream.
Higher HG also caused a vein to swell up which took a long time to massage down again each time.
So far pumping at 4 HG has not caused that vein to swell up again.
I did gain from using the higher HG but lost it all when I stopped due to injury, whether or not pumping at lower HG will give me growth is to be seen.

gprent, good luck with your new routine schedule.

Babbis, I also warm up with a rice sock, I prefer it to my heat pad.
I warm my thickwall cylinder up on my radiator for about 20 minutes before use. But it does not stay warm for long.
I know you told me you use a LAPdist cylinder, how do you heat it?

Turns out I did not gain anything from the everyday routine except knowledge. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure everything out, but in the end, it was diminishing returns that convinced me to stop. My post pump result would not be as good and long lasting and my erection strength decreased a bit as well as erection stamina.

It seems my erect gains have not changed much for quite some time, but what has improved with low pressure pumping is all day flaccid girth and hang, much decreased discoloration and return to normal color, much improved erection strength and stamina.

The heat pad is a must for my routine. When my heat pad craps out, I won’t even pump until I replace it. (Which is pretty damn quick)

I also preheat my cylinder by just placing it in the oven set at 140 degrees F. ( 60 degrees C)

I too am following the “less is more” approach and have gained significantly from it. Although my pumping routine isnt all that strict, I bascially stick to a 1 on 2 off or 2 on and 2-3 off. For a breakdown of my routine take a look at my 4 month growth comparison pics. I go into pretty good detail about my routine and all thats involved. Just remember, everyone is different. Just because Ive gained with little effort and plenty of rest, this may not work for everyone but its worth a shot and IPR has been proven successful among many.

I use a electric heat pad, it has only two settings so I put it on the highest one, wrap it around the cylinder and fasten it with a therap wrap and let it heat while I get my other stuff ready and warm up with my rice sock. It gets warmer as time passes and is quite hot for my last set. It came with a pillow sheet but I use it without.

How about if we keep updating this thread as we continue our routines? Should tell us quite a bit about the effects of different pumping frequencies… I will continue my 1 on 2 off routine for at least two more weeks and maybe longer. If you go on a 3 on 1 off routine, bluenun, we will get some feedback on that frequency as well.

That’s a good idea.

My routine:

3x20min sets at 4-5Hg.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Good luck!

Yes, keep updating this thread.

Tomorrow I start the 3 on 1 off, 4 x 10 minutes at 4HG.
It may only be for 10 days though as I might be off to Amsterdam for 5 days then.

Excellent, giveme9 and bluenun! Do you warm up before starting the routine? Do you heat the tube? Do you jelq? Stretch?

How many times each day

All of this discussion is very helpful as I sort it out, but one piece of information that very few people share is how many times a day they pump on the days they pump. For example, I have adopted the less than 5hg pump as it makes the most sense to me based on everything I have been reading. But how often during a day do you pump? Yesterday I pumped four times for 8-10 minutes each time followed by low to moderate jelqing - on average 50 wet jelq strokes each time - followed by a warm down with pretty warm water. Each pump, btw, was preceded by a “pretty warm” warm-water dip for 3-5 minutes. If I could, I would pump more often during the day, but it could be awkward at work. <G> I am still also trying to determine how many days a week to rest or if I need to rest. I know at 58, the rest helps everything, but when I was a teen and through my 20’s, it seemed like I was walking around with some form of erection all the time. Maybe that’s what made everything work so well. While I would like growth gains, they are secondary to my desire to clean out and restore my penile plumbing so to speak, so that I can develop and SUSTAIN a good solid erection. It can be huge, but if it doesn’t work when you need it or want it to work, what’s the point? Donquixote
