By decent pressure do you mean more than 5Hg? I would seem to need a lot more than 5Hg more to get anywhere near erect length in the tube once I have lost my erection.

Interesting timeoutfortony. Reading your comment above. One strange thing I’ve noticed since starting pumping is that i reach and surpass my bpel in the tube with 4.5 hg. 5hg takes me to .2 past my bpel.

Could this mean that my eq possibly isn’t as good as i thought? Because 5hg isn’t that much force really yet its enough to comfortably surpass my bpel.

Everyone tolerates pressure differently. 5hg is perfect for me. The more time I pump the longer I get in the tube. Tony, how long are your pumping sessions and are you using some form of constant heat?

It might be to do with the pump I use. I am using an air pump with a 3” tube and a rubber donut or collar in the base. If you have a gauge I am guessing that you are also air pumping, but perhaps a more narrow tube that doesn’t allow for as much girth expansion?

Personally I would need to go to about 10Hg to get to my erect length. Perhaps my gauge is not accurate and I have been under pumping? I have noticed the needle doesn’t sit on 0, rather a little above which makes me dubious.

10Hg doesn’t cause me any pain or spotting but I do start to get some fluid buildup, which I don’t get at 5Hg, even when pumping for 20 mins at 5Hg. My skin gets a little puffed but that’s all.

Also, my definition of a 100% erection is standing to full attention with an upward curve and so hard there is no give at all, the penis is tight as a drum. My normal state is more like 90% which is pretty firm and straighter - I can bend it a little in this state. I wonder what other people consider to be 100%?

My pumping sessions generally consist of one session of around 15 mins in the tube. I use a wheat bag (like a rice sock) to warm myself up first, get as hard as I can and then wrap the wheat bag around the tube for the duration of the session. The wall of the tube is generally pretty warm to the touch for the duration of the session.

I’m wondering if the gauge on my tube is under reading? I’ve not done much pumping over 5Hg due to all the advice I have been getting but I have pumped up to 10Hg for 10 secs or so to see what would happen. I certainly get longer at that pressure. Often by the end of a 15 minute session at 4Hg I am nearly an inch under my erect length.

I’ve been struggling with EQ a bit lately.. too many factors to know exactly what is causing it but I’m trying to rule out my pumping technique.

It sounds like your pumping is fine, other than the doubts regarding an accurate pressure reading.

After pumping are you a bit more plump?

Yes, a good session leaves me 0.3” more in erect girth if I can muster a good erection straight after coming out of the tube. After a few firegoat rolls I loose most of it within half an hour or so.

As you get more weeks experience, you can add an additional set. Then add more time and so on.

For me 5 in Hg feels pretty tight at first. I’m usually just a little longer than my natural length at 5 inHg if I went into the pump near 100%. That’s usually the top of my first cycle. Once you get used to it, you can go higher. At 10 inHg, it feels like my cock is being gripped tight by a vice and pulled hard - really, really tight. The skin feels kind of stretched/tingly, and I’m about 0.4-0.5 inches longer than my normal erect length. I sometimes go a little higher at the end of PE, but not for long.

Thanks for that JonnyClang, I am really getting the feeling that my gauge is not accurate. When I resume next week I am going to use length in the tube as a guide rather than the gauge and see how that works out.

At least I have started on a conservative pumping regime!

I don’t know, but that sounds about right. You hear about some pumpers who can no longer get completely hard. You see it with some porn stars as well, e.g. Maybe Shane Diesel. But I should think if you stop pumping its possible to reverse that problem to some extent through new cell growth. Indeed, we frequently hear about PEers who loose some of their gains when they take a break from PE. Perhaps its due to new cell growth catching up with their plastic deformation. Maybe some experienced pumpers could help us out here?

On the issue of softness after pumping, yes, I’m nearly always softer coming out than going in. Its why I prefer medium length cycles, 1-2 mins, up to higher pressures, say 10 inHg. Between each cycle I take it out, massage back to full hardness, put it back in.

I’ve started to take the occasional Arginine pill before PE (and sex), like a couple of hours before. Really seems to help. Of course, I might imagining it, or it might be placebo, but I think it really does work. Makes it easier to get back to full harness between cycles. Also, try ‘milking’ when in the tube - this is Kegeling while pulling on the pump tube. Also seems to help with staying firmer, and increases length. Particularly effective at higher pressures - but probably also contributes to faster fluid build up.

This has not been my experience. I get outstanding erections. The only time I’ve had erection issues is if I over do things. This is coming from a ten year pumper that’s going to be 48 in a few weeks.

I think some of the gains from pumping come from phenotypic plasticity. But that is just a theory of mine.

Idk if this has been covered on this forum. This is more mechanism of growth that I can see would happen over time from pumping and even clamping.

So you are posturing that pumpers may be degrading the smooth muscle function? That’s alarming!

Clearly some pumpers don’t loose the ability to get hard so I think that’s to do with the routine. Maybe stretching the smooth muscle too far in a single session causes a problem so this is why lower pressures produce consistently better results?
