Pumping Underwater

I was in the bath the other night, and I had an idea!
What if I pumped submerged underwater.
So here is how it went!

You enter the tube and create a vacuum above the water, then submerge the cylinder in your bath water.
As this water is warm to hot it really helps with circulation!
You then pump up to the pressure you want!

Has anyone else ever thought about this!

Even better is putting the water IN the tube. However, make sure you have a water compatible pump. You can try it by sucking with your mouth. True water pumping (in the tube) is way better than dry pumping.

I get the water in the tube, water compatible pump, and water pumping is way better,etc. I’ve tried pumping with warm water inside the tube and like it.

But, please explain…sucking with your mouth.

I don’t think I have said it so, WELCOME to the forum. Good to have you with us.

If you don’t have a water-compatible pump it’s best to use your mouth for suction. It’s not recommended for newbies though, they need a gauge in order to tell how much pressure they are pulling.

I have the lapdist deluxe pump with a gauge. I don’t know if it is water compatible. I haven’t used it submerged in the tub, but I have pumped with warm water inside the cylinder, with no problems, and it makes the water soluble lube more slippery. I like the feeling. :)

I only pump from 5-7Hg, let it reduce to about 3Hg and them return to 5-7Hg. I do 4 sets of 10 minutes, with about 10-15minutes between the sets. I never pump higher.

Water pumping is, in fact, old news. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve heard that, because of the warm water, it tends to give you a better pump than regular pumping. I use a hot gel pack to get the same result.

That pump is not water compatible. If you get water inside of it, it is likely to fail, the gauge especially.

Pumping under hot water! So enter the vacuum pump above water! Then get into the hot bath so that the hot warter surrounds the cylinder!

Inside the cylinder there is still only air, but it is surrounded by hot water! This really helps with circulation I have found?

Yep, I understood what you meant. Thanks for your clarification.

But, what I meant, was that I was adding about tablespoon full of warm water inside the cylinder before I put my unit inside.

Originally, I had kept a florist “mister” spray bottle near by so that I could “mist” my unit every once in a while. The KY, or whatever water based lube I was using, would sort of dry up (like when using it in intercourse) and I would “mist” it to get it slippery again. Then, I began to spray the congealed, no longer slippery KY (or other) inside the cylinder to get it slippery again. Some water began to build up inside the cylinder and I found that I could “swish it around” inside to loosen up the lube. I had tried to “again liquefy” the lube inside the cylinder with hot towels wrapped around the cylinder, but found the “misting” to do quicker.

One day I put warm water inside the mister and after lubing up myself and the cylinder, I gave the inside of the cylinder 5 or 6 spritz of the warm water (probably about 1 or 2 Tablespoons). It got really, really slippery and I liked the warm feeling. So, that is what I was doing and what I meant about putting water inside the cylinder.

I’m not going to do that any longer due to the reply from gprent, whos judgement and advice I trust. I will again do the warm towel to wrap around the cylinder. My bath tub is basiclly just a base to control the water from the shower and only about 5 inches deep. I only take showers. In all the years that I have lived here I have only taken a “bath” about 10 times.

Panos, you should still do your misting to keep the lube slippery. You could probably still put a little water inside the cylinder. Just as long as you don’t let the pump suck up any water, it should be OK.

Which equipment is water compatible?

Usually a pump without a gauge is water compatible but you should double check with the distributor to make sure. This basic brass pump from lapdist, the second one down, is water compatible: Pumps | LA Pump
