In my opinion and most would agree, if you’re getting petechiae in 5 minutes, it is too much vacuum. Are you using the bathmate for a sex boost or for PE? In the PE aspect, 5 minutes is not very long.
This is the same advice I would give anybody without a gauge.
What you can do: Kegel and watch your glans in the tube. If it expands and contracts with your kegel, do another pump or partial pump, try and sneak up on it. Just when it stops contracting, is a good place to stop. You’ll be just over your natural vascular ability. Then check every so often, kegel again and see if you need to do a maintenance pump. Don’t check constantly, you’ll just tire out your PC muscle and the reference will be lost. You don’t need to max out the bathmate to get a safe result. Most of their models achieve anywhere between 10hg-15hg at max, almost three times the vacuum that you actually need to effectively PE.
The best you can do: Get a pump with gauge and you won’t have to guess and you’ll be pumping to the same level every time. It’s very easy to over pump without a gauge, as you’ve come to find out for yourself.
If stealth pumping in the shower or bath is your only option, then I understand there are limitations. Pumping with anything other than a bathmate in that situation is somewhat unreasonable. Fumbling with a cylinder, hose, and pump while showering could be more trouble than it’s worth. I think I would find some other way to get my pumps in. Though, I wouldn’t ever be using a bathmate either. Take that with a grain of salt.
