Guys, this is a stupid question for which I apologize in advance.

What works to create a good seal between the tube and our body?

All this time I have been using the lube that I bought with my pump -it worked wonderfully- but my bottle is now empty, and it is not worth to buy more from here ($12 one bottle plus $40 for shipping) so I thought about some regular pharmacy product like Vaseline but the seal is not good, I have to pump constantly to keep the desired pressure. It does not work.

Any ideas?

Any edible vegetable oil will do. Olive oil is as good as any. You don’t need to buy expensive, but don’t buy the cheapest otherwise you will tend to smell like a salad.

It’s often better to use few drops of water as well. This helps to make the seal better.

Even things like walnut oil are OK., but they can stain your skin. I say this as it is a darker colour but I have no experience of it. Maple or corn oil might be OK (less vegetable smell. Although if you use some liquid soap to wash your dick it should remove most of it anyway.

You will probably find the lubricant you used is some sort of vegetable oil with a touch of masculine scent - or whatever.

Just about anything will do. Go down to your local Walmart, drugstore… and buy some Astroglide (where they sell condoms) or use Vaseline Intensive Lotion (add a little water when applying), etc. Very inexpensive.

I use the store brand KY lubricant. I think it’s just called lubricating jelly. Really cheap, easy cleanup.

Helps to shave your shaft up to the base where the tube rests. Hairs there create little “rivers” of air coming into the tube, throwing off the vacuum level. Don’t worry about shaving. If you do it right, nobody in the gym will be even aware that you do shave.

I read in Time Magazine, of all places, that shaving in the pubic area is becoming a very popular thing for men to do. Now, if Time talks about it, you know there must be a whole lot of guys shaving down there nowadays.

Check to make sure that the pump or fittings are not causing the vacuum leak also.

And don’t forget to twist the tube round the base of your dick, as that helps to get a good seal.

And, of course, If you use a common oil, No-one is going to ask awkward questions, like: What is this KY stuff for?

Ok, I think the problem is that I don’t shave, I just trim my pubic hair. I used to get a good seal with lube, maybe because it is more dense than vaseline. I gonna have to shave.

Second that. Shaving made a huge difference for me. Just plan ahead 24 hours, in case you nick your skin a little, in which case pumping can result in superficial bleeding.

Funny, but I attribute this to the Internet (work with me here :-) ) Consider that pornography used to be a “hobby” for a much smaller segment of the population. Far too many people were embarrassed to go into a porn shop and buy or rent a video. Now that it is easily, anonymously accessible in the privacy of your own home, I would guess the number of people watching it has gone up tenfold in the past decade. Most porn that I’ve seen, straight or gay (I enjoy both equally), shows men with balls shaved and neatly trimmed elsewhere.

As for the seal with a pump, I suppose the seal is better completely bare but honestly, it’s not an issue for me since I use Vaseline at the base of the tube. Not as easy to clean up but a great seal, even with a bit of hair. I also use a tube size (1.75) that I fill up (girth) when fully pumped and I find this to be the most important factor in making the best seal. It also seems to be removing an ever so slight bend to the left that I used to have. I have a 2 inch tube that I find very difficult to keep in vacuum because I don’t fill it up, though I look forward to the day when I can :-)
