Shipping from US to UK

I want to get a pump with a gauge (was thinking of buying a pump with gauge from these guys Harbor Freight Tools – Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977 - but I read that I have to get one more piece to make it fit to the cylinder and I’ve no idea where to get it from, female or male piece? something like that anyway) and cylinder from LA Pump. They said they will ship it for $35, my question is, will I have to the pay VAT, and if so how on earth do you go about sorting this out?

I’ve had a look at thickwall.co.uk, but their stuff is really expensive and they don’t sell the 1.75" cylinder I need.

I think you would do better to order a pump already with the correct plumbing from Picturebrite.

The pump you want is item number P131 on the penis pump page. They might even ship it for less money then Harbor Freight.

Tell, you what, if you order from Picturebrite, let us know what the shipping is.

Edit: Picturebrite also sells a 1.75 inch cylinder (item P127), so you can get the entire system from them for less then lapdist.

Ben, I’ve only bought from Lapdist and have always been happy with their delivery time (5 days) and quality which must be second to none. I don’t think there will be vat on American goods.

When I’ve bought similar things from the USA, it has worked out far more expensive than expected. Customs will put 15% VAT on, then usually a ‘service/admin charge’ of around 4% of the total value.

These are paid by the shipping/carrier company, who charge a fee of between around £12 to £22 for doing it , and they hold onto your goods until they receive payment from you for the tax and fees.

I’ve had goods sit in Customs for several days because they were not sure what they were! Then sit in the carriers warehouse until they posted me out an invoice (they wouldn’t telephone; that would be too easy!), then tell me they could only deliver when I was in, as goods had to be signed for.

Last time I ordered around £140 worth of stuff, my bill ended up at £203. :bart: Not amused.

You also have to watch out for them charging double VAT. on ‘business goods’. So make sure that this is not done and complain if they do. If they get stroppy contact Customs and Excise. (or whatever they are called now) and have them check out the carrier The Post Office are the most honest about this (or at least they were last time I shipped good from the States

Thanks for the information everyone, I’ll try out picutre bright I think, I emailed them last night to ask how much shipping would be. I would try and order from the UK because it’s obviously much less hassle. But thickwall is just so much more expensive than picutrebright for example, that I think it will still work out cheaper to order it from the US. Firegoat, that add on is outrageous, £63 is nearly 50%. Are you saying that the fee the carrier charges is on top of the shipping fee, VAT, and service/admin charge? Thanks for the heads up about ‘business goods’ VAT petitfaun, I’ll make sure I don’t get caught out.

They really don’t want you ordering things from outside the EU, do they? Anyway I’ll let you know how I get on. I’m just starting the newbie routine again today (been too busy with work to fit it in) and I wanted to make sure the pump came down in time for the end of the three months.

Yes. It’s their fee for processing the customs paperwork and getting goods released from customs.

Hilarious, well maybe I’ll have another to consider my options, because that’s ridiculous.

Edit: Well actually, even with all that messing about, it will still be cheaper than thickwall.

I have looked for a quality pump (I am in the UK ) made form steel because I broke the plastic one.All the ones I have found on adult toy sites were expensive or came as part of a kit, but I found one on ebay it was called a (Gunson 77003) Vacuum Pump and I paid £24 + p & p which I thought was very reasonable indeed.some were being sold for £60 + but this one guy is a car tool company!

Hope that helps any one in the UK where it’s not always the easiest thing in the word to get enlargement stuff! I haven’t found a UK supplier of tubes yet but the pump I am talking about came with hose and gauge etc.. MST tools, Bolton, UK (mod am I allowed to mention them?)
