I’m catching a flight in a couple of weeks, and am just hoping it doesn’t create questions :) . I will be putting my pump and my cylinder into the stowed luggage that goes in the cargo part of the plane. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t get noticed on the X-rays or something!

Just get yourself a piece of wood about 4” square, and 3/4 inch thick.
Bore a hole in it so that the metal nozzle is a firm fit but easily pulled out. Then pack it with the cylinder and if they ask ,just put the cylinder nozzle in the hole, stand it on the table and say it’s for flowers. in your chalet.

Funny story Avocet. You know, I once juggled 3 juggling pins in the middle of a crowded airport when the TSA agent asked me to prove that I can juggle (as if they were weapons of some kind and I was lying about being able to juggle) I did it and the people (including the TSA agents) applauded at the end of my performance.
I think Mr Happy has seen me juggle 3 pins before.
Anyway… If I carried my pump through airport security, I think I’d just tell them straight out…

When I travel by myself, I often take my cylinder and connecting hose. I don’t take the pump, but instead I use mouth suction power to create the vacuum. I pack all of my stuff in my checked luggage. I could care less what they think if they check my bag, but I’ve never had a problem. They’re harmless supplies anyway.

There’s actually this thing in Traditional Chinese Medicine called Cupping Therapy. It works by creating suction on the skin. You could say that your pump is used for that!
