I’ve long read that heat is advocated during pumping. I was wondering what has been observed as far as the relation of heat and edema associated with pumping? Just wondering what those with experience of using heat with pumping have observed?

I wholeheartedly recommend heat with pumping. I get a better session and better residual hang with heat. I have also noticed that it is easier, at least for me, to get edema from a heated pump session so I needed to adjust my times to accomodate this.


Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7.75” BPEL; 7.25” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

I get more edema faster with heat, and I have to cut my daily time under vacuum by at least half or I’ll experience sagging EQ.

I have no doubt that hot pumping gets more gains than cold, but I value good EQ now more than potential gains later.

That noted, I appear to be in the minority with regard to this, so you’ll want to try it for yourself and see how it works for you.

I have gone off using heat while pumping. Seem to get more edema and burst capiliaries while using heat.

Everyone needs to find what works best for them. For me, adding heat while dropping to a 4-7 ish pressure was a game changer (albeit with occasional short higher pressure). No doughnut, edema less pronounced versus what I call “core expansion”, plus I take breaks every 20 minutes or so to slap on a ring and jelq to full erection before going back in (removing ring). My protocol is to immediately go into an ADS then for at least a cool down period, though if time allows I may still apply a heat pad during a longer stretch. It’s in those days that I am seeing really good BPFSL.
