Upgrading my old CTC pumpAsking For Recommendations

I dropped my vacutech pulsar two feet off a table and the motor completely died. Since they’re out of business I can’t send it to them to get fixed (sucks because I know it’s the motor/pump itself, everything else is totally fine and I really like this pump)

I have a big CTC pump that I bought fifteen years ago and it still works, but it’s got that tiny hose and the strange regulator with the screw you use to adjust and no gauge.

I’d like to buy some standard size tubing and some fittings, be nice to put an inline gauge too. Primarily I want to get the vacuum level adjustment thing away from the pump itself so it’s not flopping up and down making me chase it to adjust while I’m pumping.

I really want to get this thing working, I was about to start saving up for a monstertube and I can’t afford to buy a pump also (I do have the vacutech plastic manual jump in the meantime)

MODS: if you could move this to the correct forum that would be much appreciated, thank you! Long time reader, rare poster.

I guess I forgot to ask a question.

Where is the best place to get tubing and fittings? And a gauge?

Hardware stores will have 1/4” metal pipe and fittings if you are thinking hard connection. Some stores may have silicon tubing. Amazon will have silicon tubing and vacuum gauge.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

I’m talking about the little white quick connect fittings you see used on everything now and the larger clear tubing

Typically the clear tubing is vinyl which is not very flexible, but will do the job. Silicon tubing is much more flexible and is slightly more expensive.

The quick connect fittings are used at the cylinder. LeLuv is one of the companies which has them.

Amazon has all of it. Just search for 1/4” and whichever part you are looking for.

McMaster-Carr may be another source for them.

If you need a fitting to connect two sections of tubing it is called 1/4” barbed x barbed. You could also get a Y fitting for connecting 3 sections of tubing.

If you need one end to screw into a threaded port and the other end for tubing it is called 1/4” npt male x 1/4” barbed. If the female port is not 1/4”, just insert the correct size in your search. These come in both metal and plastic. Plastic is ok for this purpose.

can i get your old ctc the broken one?

it seems like all the vac makers dying you may have to go diy, theres the aquarium pump option( simple mod pulls to 7-9hg max)…or the used refigerator pump mod option can be dangerous ( in construxtion requires skills/ and makes massive vaccum).

depends on your budget and abilities

Yeah when someone comes out with a new pump system like the Vacutech Pulsar they will OWN the market! I also have the old dinosaur CTC as a spare backup and they are odd but they work forever.

32quarters thanks for the links for tubing parts and the recommendation on silicone.
