Vacuum Pump With Gage On a Bathmate

Has anyone try to ad a vacuum pump with a gage on the bathmate? I just bought a bathmate hydromax7 but dont like the idea of no gage, just asking because I’m in the process of adding a vacuum pump with the gage and like some input on this idea. I think it will work for a safer pump plus it can be use for both hydro and dry workouts.

I thought bathmates had a safety feature that kept them under a certain inHg of vacuum pressure, presumably a safe range.

Maybe not. I’ve never used one and don’t know the specifics about them.

If I remember correctly, Bathmates can pump up to 15inhg no problem. But that is a problem for your cock, especially if you are a newbie.

Yes, thats my guess that the bathmate pulls high hg, the first time I try it with only three pumps it felt like it wanted to pull my dick of the base not a good filling. When I was pumping before with the air vac pump I had to pull at least 12 to 15 hg to fill that much pressure.

OK, I found the video I was remembering. It compares a Bathmate Hydromax with a Penomet and its various gator strengths.

The Bathmate goes first and has no problem going right to 16-17inhg. Then the Penomet was tested with various gator strengths and the pressure ranged from about 9 to 13inhg.

Now considering that starting pressure for a newbie is recommended to be around 3 to 4inhg, you can see how guys buying these pumps can get into trouble quickly with injury issues.

That is why we always recommend that newbies buy a pump with a gauge when they are first starting out with pumping as their PE choice.

With this pressure gauge it should be possible to use any cylinder both with and without water (I think).

The brake fluid reservoir (for you, water reservoir) is pretty small and you may have to figure out a way to use a larger vessel. Just be careful not to pump any water through the hand pump.

Of course for air pumping just leave the reservoir out of the picture. If you are new to pumping I would recommend getting conditioned using air only as it is much easier than working with a water setup.

For pumping yes, I am new but for now I would be very little just to see how I am (between 2 and 5 min at very low depressions).

Long time lurker here. Thought I should chime in so others can learn from my mistake.

I have been pumping for 5 months with a 1.75” leluv cylinder and brake bleeder pump with gauge and stay around 5hg.
Lately, I’ve been packing the cylinder quite quickly, but I decided to try using the bathmate with the pump instead of upgrading to a larger cylinder to save a few bucks.
Anyhow, I was able to connect the pump to the bathmate using this silicon funnel that I found in the kitchen. Not sure where it came from. But the tip of the funnel just happens to fit a 90degree connector that came with the brake bleeder. The wider side of the funnel, I placed on top of the bathmate and made sure the plastic tab at the tip of the bathmate was set to ‘open’. Then a few pumps and the suction would hold the funnel in place.
I had tried this setup a few times before this thread started and it seemed to work fine while in the bathtub. But I prefer to sit in the cylinder (water pumping) while working at the computer. So three days ago I decided to try this at the desk with the bathmate.
The reason I don’t use the bathmate often is the watery mess which confines me to the tub, so this time I made sure everything was situated first in the tub then slowly walked to the desk and started the timer. Each time the suction went below 5hg on the gauge, I would pump a few times and also push on bathmate itself to make sure it wouldn’t slip and splash everywhere. Well before my 30 minutes were up, the bathmate was fully compressed and I would occasionally repump and push on the cylinder when I saw the gauge fall under 5hg.
When I finally came out of the bathmate, I was horrified to see a freaking dime-sized, blister on my glans! I wasn’t paying close attention (the bathmate is red and somewhat opaque) and I believed I was within the safe vacuum range according to the gauge.
I think what happened was that my pushing on the bathmate created a larger vacuum than what existed in the brake bleeder and hose. That caused the plastic tab to close shut and hold that higher vacuum inside the bathmate and the value I was reading from the gauge was only the vacuum inside the hose and reservoir. I might have been OK if I only pumped with the brake bleeder. That’s my theory but I’m not going to test it out any time soon. I’ve got a new 2” cylinder on order now and I’m sitting here PE-less wondering how long this huge blister will take to heal.

I count myself lucky I didn’t cause more damage. Hopefully, anyone experimenting with the bathmate will take heed. Safe gains to all!

Sorry for the delay mail sucks no days because the coronavirus, after installing the pump went to 5hg in the first pump second pump went to 8hg third pump went to 10hg that was the pump with hose straight to the bathmate not with the reservoir, I believe you lose some suction pressure from the bathmate first pumps because the line and the pump empty space so the first pump might be hire than recorded so that’s the highest I went with the bathmate by itself after that I started pumping with the pump gauge and went all the way to 20hg and stop afraid somthing would broke, all of this test were made on my belly not on my dick, living a nasty round red spot.
