Will a Mityvac pump work with Lapdist cylinder

Will a Mityvac pump work with Lapdist cylinder

Right now Im using a homemade pump from a gravel cylinder and Mityvac pump. Im thinking about buying a good quality cylinder from LA or somewhere else to better fit my size. My base girth is 5.25 and midshaft is right at 5”. The gravel cylinder measures 2” in diameter so Im considering a 1.75” cylinder instead. The pumps look basically the same so Im just wondering if a 1.75 cylinder from LA and a Mityvac pump would work together? Im sure they would but I may have to buy some additional parts/tubing.

I have a solid mityvac pump and a 2” diameter cylinder that I ordered from lapdist. Works like a charm.

It depends on what kind of quick disconnect connectors you are using. Just about all professional systems use the same connectors, so to be absolutely sure, when you order and new cylinder (it will come with a female connector) you may also want to buy a male connector. Just look at the pictures of connectors at the site you buy the cylinder from and you will be able to tell if you already have the same type.

Mine did.

Mine did also.

I bought my first 2” cylinder from the Uk but later bought a 1.75” from Lapdist and prefer it as it is made of lighter material and it had a flange to stop it digging in. Much more comfortable.

Hey BiggerJohnson:

I have a almost new 1.75 cylinder that I’ll let go for $50 + $5 for shipping. New ones are about $90 with shipping. It is a LAPump cylinder with the quick disconnect. Super clean. PM me. I’m going outta town tomorrow for a week, so if interested let me know today as I can’t get to a computer until next Friday. Steve

Thanks for the replies guys.

On Lapdist’s website they now have the cylinders alot cheaper than $90.

Here’s a picture of my setup. Just the regular tubing from the gravel cylinder connecting to a tube off of my pump with an adapter piece (black piece)to fill in the bigger tube. What connector off Lapdist’s site looks like it would work? Does the LA cylinder already come with a female connector on top of it meaning I would just need the male to connect from my pump’s tubing to the female part of the cylinder?

Biggerjohnson: True, but when you add shipping to the east coast at $18-22. Go figure. Thanks anyway—Steve

I went ahead and ordered the tube from LA on Friday. There were a few connectors I needed anyways so it was easier just to get it all at the same time from the same place. Thanks for the offer Steve.

My turn to ask a question about compatibility between constructors.
I am the proud owner of a bostonpump manufactured pump and I would like to know if they are using the same connectors ( male & female ) as those from lapdist tube.
Indeed I am planning on changing my pump and maybe some spare connectors -The whole bargain is cheaper at lapdist- .

Thanks for your feedback, I would like to be sure of my shot before taking the fall.

Edit :
Kept on using the search button and found a pile of information. Still, an answer to make me one hundred
Percent would be nice.
That would also be useful to create a thread to pile up all the link dealing with TECHNICAL information
About the different tube and pump on the market.

Once again, the connectors are the same for all of the major brands.
