I had noted that my testicles had shrunk dramatically even before I went on TRT, particularly the right one, which was about the size of a grape. Both were soft. A year of TRT didn’t make them any worse, which was good.
I had started pumping my scrotum some time ago, but it was only intermittent. At the beginning of November 2022 I went to an aggressive pumping schedule, trying to stretch it back out to somewhere close to what it was when I was younger. I’m making good progress there.
An unexpected side effect was that both testicles started getting larger and firmer. After the first month, they were hard and 20 to 25ml on the orchidometer. They’d get a little smaller and softer by the end of the day, but not too much.
At the end of December they were running 25+ml and keeping their size and firmness all day. The standard Prader orchidometer’s largest bead is 25ml, which is the smallest “normal” adult male size. Apparently urologists are only interested in hypogonadism and not anything in normal range or larger. By guesswork, I’m running around 30ml now.
At the beginning of January, nine days ago, I started using shatavari, an herbal that’s supposed to cause enlargement of the testicles. I started with a minimal dose, one capsule per day. I doubled the dose at the fifth day. So far, I’ve seen no measurable effect; the orchidometer makes it easy to tell.
I have a month’s supply of shatavari, so I’ll use it up to complete the experiment.
After that, I’ll take a couple of weeks off, then try the next thing on the list. I might re-try Damiana since I still have some. In several previous tests it made my scrotum larger, like it was filled with something, but my testicles were still the same size. It’s worth a re-try now that they’re up into normal range.
I’m pumping two to four hours per day with an electric pump at 3” Hg and a thermostatically controlled heating pad at 114F. I’m using the same skin conditioning mixture I used for scar reduction as a base coating and then a layer of coconut oil as a lubricant.
