Hi All,

So, I’ve been losing my erection during sex on and off for the past 6 months or so I’d say! It’s been driving me crazy, which could be the main ongoing cause of this vicious circle!

I’m reading ‘The Hardness Factor’ by Dr Steven Lamm at the moment and have started to take L-Arginine and pine bark extracts as he suggests. I also went to the doctor to get my bloodwork and everything is looking good - low blood pressure, high testosterone, blood sugar all in check but my cholesterol was on the higher side but most likely not a concern, and no cardiovascular issues presenting themselves!

He prescribed with some Viagra, which I didn’t really want to pursue but he told me there could be some phycological benefits to not losing my erection which could, in turn, resolve the issue without medication further down the line! That’s if it is psychological… FYI - I didn’t tell him I’ve previously practised PE, I don’t think it would have made much of a difference anyway as he didn’t even know what a kegel was…

Any thoughts from vets and thunderers on this topic would be greatly appreciated?

FYI - I’m not PEing atm, I also very rarely watch porn, I’m edging and reverse kegeling to see if that will resolve this, overweight smoker but actively workout, lift heavy and train martial arts!

I’m not sure what that book says, but low blood pressure is not good for erection hardness. It’s the blood pressure that inflates the penis and makes it hard.

If your blood pressure (when aroused) is “150 over X” that 150 means 150mm of mercury, ie 6 inHg of inflation pressure. If your blood pressure is “120 on X” when aroused that is less than 5 inHg and you will have a squishy erection, not fully hard. And a healthy young man might get aroused blood pressure up around 170+ which equates to approx 7 inHg, and makes the penis so hard it can hurt.

Stating your age will help a lot, also if you are circumsized etc.

I’m 28 years of age.

Im under the impression low blood pressure is considered to be good?

Re low blood pressure, I had low blood pressure when I was a teenager and had boners that would last for days!

RomeoPlus, please cite your references if you are to make this claim, I would be very interested in more knowledge on recent discoveries!
Of course blood causes the penis to expand, however it is relative pressure i.e. how much more blood can you pump in compared to the blood that can flow out. The erection is mostly controlled by how much you can keep in (on the affluent side). I don’t know the limiting factor but I’m sure that if your regulatory system isn’t up to the task of keeping this differential then your actual blood pressure won’t help. High blood pressure is frequently an indicator of worsening cardiovascular health. Why? Because it means the heart is pumping harder to compensate for the loss of pressure in the vascular system. The return pressure usually rises much slower than the upper bound of the blood pressure iirc from med school.

Always had low blood pressure and pulse. Remember on turning 50 it was 99 over 59 with 39 pulse (all nines makes it easy to remember). Even now as I leave my mid sixties, it’s just only around ten points higher for each reading. Never seemed to be a problem, and have always had rock hard erections. But as an aside, even though low blood pressure is looked upon as being very good in the USA, that’s not so in all countries. So if you and I were in Germany, for instance, I’ve read that physicians there would most likely prescribe medicine to raise our blood pressure.

I was exactly your age the first time I experienced going soft during intercourse. And it can cause panic, and the feeling that you’re never again going to be the normal old you. Looking back, it’s easy to see that my problem then was likely stress related. Got over it relatively quickly, but really had to fight that psychological boogeyman for a while that made me dread that it might happen again.

Keep up the exercise, and lose some weight. I’d also get that Viagra because it may help to fight any psychological boogeyman. But each time you take it, try cutting the dosage in half. Wish you the best, and a lifetime of rock hard erections.

I think in first you must to make low levels stress you. You can buy some herbs to improve blood following in your genitals. I’m suggest you some herbal Tribulus terrestris, Lepidium meyenii. Edging session, Kegel’s exercise with combination with herbal make a healthy and strong your penis and erecting.
Don’t think all times for that’s you have to fun and make stress low level.

The bit that’s hard (or not in this case) as it never feels like it’s a response to anxiety or stress during the moment.

Thanks mate, I’ve just started taking maca, L-arginine and pine bark extract. I’ll report back on it’s effectiveness.

I don’t think it’s a testosterone related issue, my test was high on my blood test. I’m a rather big, masculine and muscular bear shaped man… 😁

My concern with kegels is you can create an inbalance which is bad for EQ - I do wonder if that is what has caused these issues. I’ve only just started to do reverse kegels. Over the years I’ve kegeled a lot during sex and masterbation because if I don’t it takes me a life time to cum…

No citable sources sorry. I’m at that age where friends are going on blood pressure medication, or making lifestyle changes to lower blood pressure. Then they report that now their blood pressure is low there are negative effects re overall hardness, or staying hard. I have chosen lifestyle choices rather than take BP meds, and now my blood pressure is lower my erection hardness is less. Not rock hard any more, like it was when I was up around 140 over 90 .

I’m interested in your thoughts on how much blood pressure affects the ability to get hard and how much is from other means of producing pressure differential in the penis, like kegeling muscles etc. What I am seeing is that I can get good pressure differential (good hardness) from my kegeling skills, but then if I relax and rely on blood pressure the hardness reduces.
Also, I was talking about AROUSED blood pressure re hardness, not the resting blood pressure. As a young man I also had low blood pressure at the doctor, but massive blood pressure and rock hardness when screwing. I remember veins popping, heart pounding, ears ringing etc all normal during intense sex.

I probably misunderstood Bear’s post about the blood pressure (sorry Bear!). Now he cleared that up I understand he was saying his low blood pressure wss good, ie he did NOT have the health problem of high blood pressure. I thought he had LOW (ie bad-low) blood pressure, which will give that symptom of erection fading away once you stop the artificial pressure boosting like kegeling etc.

I took 4 grams of L-arginine and pine bark extract yesterday.

And last night and this morning I didn’t lose my erections and it resulted in great sex! I ended up going too hard this morning and slammed my old boy into her leg or something.. it hurts a little bit but I still didn’t lose my Woody!

It feels like progress! If it stays like this for another month I’ll start the newbie routine again.

So this weekend I took 50mg of Viagra, about an hour or so after having quite a large meal! And within about 10 minutes I could feel my pulse in my head, I was overheating slightly, and about 30 minutes later I couldn’t breathe through my nose, I felt a tiny bit of balance and my breathing felt short.

None of this was overpoweringly uncomfortable but there were some very noticeable changes going on in my body! In terms of my sexual performance, I was hard as a rock for about an hour, an hour of which I couldn’t seem to cum, couldn’t properly breath so I was gassed and sweaty half near approaching a heart attack! Overall we enjoyed the experience but it’s not something I’ll do again unless it was needed.

Overall my EQ seems to be on the mend after not PEing for around a month!

Try eating hot peppers 🌶 if you wanna try a more natural approach. I recently discovered that it is quite helpful for EQ . I am currently eating Chilli thaï and I gotta say, its quite spicy for a start. I like the taste of it but its just brutal. I cut the green part and I eat 2 or 3 whole around 4pm for midnight sex life. You gotta be determined and I know some of you guys are so that’s why I’m sharing this easy to find tip because I was also on the fence on taking the blue pill. I’ve also noticed that you body will get used to it over time and EQ won’t be as rock hard as when you started but I might need to upgrade to habanero pepper.

A few words if you wanna study the effects.

Capsaicin: The active ingredient in spicyness. It is considered at this point to be some sort of super healthy food to prevents heart disease, greatly help cardiovascular fonction. Also helps prevent cancer.

Scoville unit: It is to determine how spicy a pepper might be, it can be tricky cause you can find very spicy Serano peppers when they are considered quite the entry level pepper and sometimes I find my chilly thaï not as spicy and its a pepper that is usually at the very end of the “restaurant spicy” spectrum. Gordon Ramsay would get shot if he’d make a meal with those but at the same time it is considered around 100 000 scoville, habanero is around 200 000. Carolina Reaper 2 000 000, you literally can die from it.

I’m double your age and I find 50mg way too much. I cut that into 3 and only take it on an empty stomach. A big meal decreases the efficacy big time. At this dose my side effects are minimal if any.
