Correct use Of FIR pad

Correct use Of FIR pad

Had an Aroma Season pad for a few days now. Recommended by Science Guy as a good pad with good heat. That it has.. I can’t use it on the 3rd setting against my skin, it gets far too hot.

My question is how tightly are we supposed to be wrapping these pads? The tighter I wrap, the heat I feel at skin level increases greatly. Thinking that must be conductive heat as even though the pad is IR, the surface temp still gets very hot. Do we need to feel any conductive heat from FIR pads? Or can we ignore skin temperature and trust in the penetration of infra red? Would this allow us to wrap more loosely with a higher setting potentially getting deeper heat?

Could we also separate pad from skin with a silicone sleeve and rely on getting the advertised temps deep in the tissue?

Long winded but I’m sure many wonder the same so worth throwing down.

Cheers

I have a thermedic pad, similarly if I wrap very tight it gets way too hot on my skin. I wrap my pad with an ace bandage. I have recently began using a silicone sleeve over my entire shaft and even with that, if I wrap too tight it will get too hot for my skin. I’m kind of learning the art of wrapping just tight enough. It’s not uncommon for me to have to re-wrap my ace bandage if it’s getting too hot, I’ll generally just unwrap and re-wrap a little looser.

I have exactly the same experience and same query too. It’d be good if it’s still possible to benefit with some separation between pad and skin.

With great penis comes great responsibility

I have a Thermedic Fir pad, and I have the opposite problem. I can’t seem to get it hot enough. I can only get the surface skin temperature up to 102-104F. I’m curious to see how everyone is wrapping their pads.

With the Thermedic I found there were hot spots and one caused a blister. I solved the problem by putting bandaids over the hot spots.

Review Red light And NIR

I know FIR pads give a good heat…but there are studies and articles that posit that red light and near infrared wave lengths actually penetrate better, with some articles focus on application to the penis. I did acquire a flexible red light/NIR pad and obtained incredible results until…it broke. I also have an FIR pad like others mention here. But I can attest that the heat “feel” and without skin burn is amazing.

Do you have a link for a NIR pad, NYTex? I can’t seem to find any.

A good known NIR pad is the one Totalman is selling on his website called “totalman”.

I would be interested to have the link too for the one you have newyorktexan.

Hi Pipo, how can you tell the Totalman pad is a NIR one? It doesn’t seem to say on the website if it’s FIR or NIR that I can see.

One of the poster here said it.
Plus i asked about it to Totalman owner.
Actually it has a little spectrum of far infrared.
However the majority of wavelentghs is near infrared.
You should send an email and check it by yourself he will give you answer very quick

Are you in US our Europe?

The wave lengths are measured as nm, with red light around 600nm, and NIR up to around 900nm. If you google red light therapy tons of hits will return, many that couple red light with NIR wave lengths. You will see many as panels of different sizes, but there are flexible wraps that also couple the wave lengths. Prices are all over. I don’t know about the Total Man, but if you also google red light and penis you will get multiple hits on therapies specific to penis health. All I can tall you is the “heat” results I experienced from a red light and NIR combo were far superior to any other heat source I have tried, including FIR. Not hot to touch (no burns) but the warmth of the cock in my hand…something different. I need a replacement…

Thanks Pipo and Tex, I’ll look into it as I’m not enjoying the skin contact heat, I have to use a layer in between and I don’t know if that means I lose a lot of the benefits from FIR.

With great penis comes great responsibility

If the skin presses tightly against the pad it will be a lot hotter on the skin. I would adjust my wrap if I felt this or reduce heat if that didn’t help. I hung SO so gravity wasn’t pushing my dick against the pad. When I hung BTC I had to put a bit of cloth between the pad and my dick, I used a cotton sock.

I took my temp measurements in SO position. I didn’t use a sock and didn’t have the pad too tight. You need to get it so you are not burning the skin but still allowing your dick to get warm internally, without measuring temperature there will be a bit of judgement call on your part

I am new to the discussion of red light therapy with NIR. I did google the terms as you suggested. And you are correct, there are lots of hits. I read several intro articles including Ben Greenfield and Dr Jay Wiles. Would you mind sharing what product you purchased and do you recommend it. Some articles discuss better blood flow and erections. Did you find that to be true? Thank you

Hi Mike. I can’t tell you the brand of the first one I bought, as I just went to Amazon and chose one based on specs and decent price. These are more expensive than regular heating units, or FIR from what I can tell. In any event, like I said, that one malfunctioned after a couple weeks. I just placed an order today for a better quality one from Novaalab (yes, double a), they have a belt type wrap in addition to their panels with red light/NIR…not cheap, but I do also have other uses for such therapy.
As far as improved blood flow etc., it may have been too soon to tell, but I did seem to notice good veinage.
