Congratulations on your success with the Craft, as BG puts it.

If you had to distill it down to a single post, what would you say are the lessons learned and the patterns that take advantage of those lessons?

Great question. Here’s my answer:

Paraphrased from a PM:

I think the right path for PE (for me anyway) is that which allows us to ride right underneath the biologically controlled adaptive response mechanism that effectively limits growth rate by means of (presumably) physio-chemical changes which serve to harden the tissues against the applied stresses. A protection mechanism basically.

Rather than embarrass myself by exposing my ignorance, I’ll just say that the penile tissue response systematics to PE stimuli that I’ve observed (in my own penis :) ) is best described as being oscillatory between positive feedback and negative feedback. This conforms to the response mechanisms of many natural systems and therefore, is, IMO, a reasonable working hypothesis to keep in mind when exploring one’s own physiological responses.

That’s what I do anyway, I try to identify the gains rate “ceiling”, which of course unfortunately requires one to over-work one’s unit in order to define it. The catch is that it’s very easy to overshoot the ceiling when one is a newb or after decon, but becomes very difficult to approach as conditioning is acquired. The gains rate ceiling does a funny thing…it simultaneously becomes lower, yet harder to reach as training (and more importantly, conditioning) progresses.

I know I’ve mentioned before about the shape of my gains cycle plots…they show steep rising limbs and then they “lay over” going asymptotically into an exponential decay curve profile. The point at which the gains curve “lays over” represents the point when our training and gains rate go from a positive feedback system (gains rate>conditioning rate) to a negative feedback system (gains rate<conditioning rate). It is at this point that I stop my training cycle.

I’ve attached a current progress chart so that the shape of my gains plots described above can be readily viewed. At the scale used, the steep rising limb and the “lay over” are best displayed by my newb gains (lay over at about 90 days). For further reference, my second cycle “lays over” at about 220 days.

The above opinions are, of course, subject to change. But so far, my PE experience has repeatedly borne out the validity of an oscillatory positive to negative feedback systematic with respect to gains production and conditioning limitation.

Of course, your experience may differ.

I’m as right as the rain, Chief. Only touble I’m having is with “saying” LOT and being perceived to be “shouting” LOT. But that’s always been a problem around here :) . Thanks for the fixaroo.

Nice to see your flag waving again :)

AWESOME GAINS!

It looks like I will need to start hanging soon. I hope I gain like you did/do!

Did you know America ranks the lowest in education but the highest in drug use? It's nice to be number one, but we can fix that. All we need to do is start the war on education. If it's anywhere near as successful as our war on drugs, in no time we'll all be hooked on phonics

I would wait until your newb gains run dry before looking into hanging. That’s what I did.

BPFSL = 9.125”

I’ve been doing BTC hanging for the last week, working with 20-24lb for the most part. I’m shooting for 10 hrs/week. This will be my principle PE training for the next couple of months, supplemented with post-hanging hot tub jelqs, ADS, evening manual stretches and bed-fowfers.

I got to talking with sparkyx about pumping with HTWs in sparky’s lymph thread yesterday and it got me interested in pumping again. So I tried 2x10 minute sets of HTW pumping this morning in lieu of some BTC hanging…it made for a nice change. I measured 8.5+” in the tube at the end of both sets. Pretty cool. I’m almost 8.5” BPEL out of the tube. Hope to make that call by Thanksgiving, that’ll be 2.0” of BPEL gain…almost there. No change in BPFSL (9.125”) or EG (5.75” ms, 6.5” base) since last report. LOT is down to 7:30 from 8:30 in the span of about a month…quite a bit of LOT change for not much action in the gains department…hmmm. Stay tuned.

Hundreds of days of hanging and no discoloration. Wow. ONce I worked up to about 15# with my Bib, the ventral side of my shaft distal to my circ scar turned black and has stayed that way ever since.

What’s your trick?

Enter your measurements in the PE Database.

Hi Modesto-

I didn’t realize that I stated that I’ve not had any discoloration. But that is the case. I don’t know what it is that causes discoloration with hanging (or any other PE for that matter), but it’s apparently something that I haven’t done. I use HTWs as my wrap…maybe that’s the trick? I also try to approximate an equilateral triangle opening of my BIB…I open the bottom up almost as far as it will go (back the screw stops out)…in order to focus clamping on the upper portion of my CCs when closed. I use HTWs to adjust my effective girth for the size of the hanger opening, comfort and to facilitate the clamping focus that I mentioned. This configuration leaves the ventral portion of the shaft under the circ scar relatively uncompressed. Nonetheless, I do get a bit of a bulge of tissue there under load, but never any discoloration or bruising.

I hope this helps.

The open bottom settings may certainly be the key. I noticed a great improvement in comfort when I loosened the bottom screws on my Bib. I’ll have to try your settings if I ever decide to hang again. Many thanks!

What I forgot to mention is toe-out. I’m pretty sure that you experimented with that, but FWIW, I use a toe-out of ~0.25”, using either the BIB or Starter. I try to balance keeping compression of the ventral circ scar area low and compression of the shaft at the back of the hanger not ridiculously high. Another recent “trick” is using a foam beer bottle/can cooler (after removing metal ribbons (that provide the coiling function) and lycra covering) between 2 HTWs. Provides great cushioning. Hard to find ‘em though. I found mine at a local grocery store. The picture shows one full size and one cut for use as a CCF (cooler clamp footing :) ).

Happy to (try to) help. I hope you’ll give xeno style hanging a quick whirl just to see what you think.
