Fell Asleep With an ADS on and Woke Up Numb

Has anyone here ever fallen asleep with an ADS on and found their dick numb when they woke up?

I had this happen with my Penismaster Pro, and 2 weeks later it is still seems to be ever bit as numb. It is very difficult to get myself aroused because sensation is very blunted. And psychologically I have now had the experience of knowing what it’s like, not only to feel like you are only average in “manhood”, but actually to be useless to women. It’s scary stuff. I am assuming that the sensation will eventually come back, but right now that’s all based on faith, as there has not been any apparent improvement :(

Anyone out there?

No one here’s ever fallen asleep with a device on and woken up with numbness?

Could really use some insight on what my chances of recovery from this are. Still quite numb after 3 weeks. It’s not inconceivable it has improved some, but I was never completely numb, only just very noticeably numbed like having weak Novocaine or something. Still have that weird feeling. Thinking about sex and women is depressing at the moment. Having a numb dick is like being sexually blind.

See a urologist man. Demand to get a Duplex Doppler penile ultrasound which will test the causes of the problem. Explain to the doctor exactly what you were doing and how you got the injury. I have jotted down the causes, symptoms and lightly ways of detecting the problem. The doctor likes to see this kind of thing - a patient taking a rational interest in their problem. Other members will be able to give you some further help. See my post, I have experienced the same thing and I’ve found a few suggestions of things that can be done that may increase sensitivity. I have not found any evidence of this working, and just as many people finding that the sensation does not return as finding that it does. /forum/showthre … t=148448&page=3

From 17/1/2013; Little sensation in the penis, 3 inches constant flaccid firm penis with veins, cannot get an erection, badly reduced libido.

I have sought medical advice and been told there is nothing wrong. My injury was a result of jelqing unconditioned with a 90%+ erect penis.

If you are not getting gains there maybe something wrong so SLOW DOWN. Be careful with the BASE of the penis as this is the MOST SENSITIVE. Injury can be PERMANENT!

How many times we said ‘No PE while sleeping!’? But, hey, there is always somebody who knows better and so he goes. You have likely damaged your dorsal nerve, Sentii; you’ll recover but it can take up to six months. Vitamin E and B6 supplementation can help recovering a bit faster, but basically it will just need time.

I think these are the products that may be helpful. Another user might be able to tell you if they’re right or whether there are any side-effects with using them.

Sentii,

As marinera says you have almost certainly damaged the dorsal nerve.

This kind of injury is called axonotmesis and describes a compression/crush injury without damage to the outer sheath of each nerve fibre.

The bad news is that the damaged internal axon cells will die off, at and beyond the point of damage.

The good news is that the healthy undamaged cells closer to your spinal cord, are capable of regeneration, provided the nerve sheaths are intact - in your case they will be as you didn’t actually severe the nerve.

Recovery rates are in the region of one centimetre a month - so if you have a 15 cm cock, we’re looking at about 15 months to full recovery, at best.

You really need to go and see a Urologist, preferably one who has a special interest in ED etc who will be able to establish the correct diagnosis.

Guys - NEVER, EVER put yourself in a situation where you might fall asleep with a PE device on. It’s asking for trouble. Nothing is worth that risk. I’d rather have a 3 inch erection that works, than an 8 inch useless dongle.

Sentii,

I should qualify my last reply, by pointing out that it could well only be neuropraxia. This is the mildest form of injury - a physiological block of nerve conduction within an axon (basic nerve cell), without any anatomical interruption.

It usually recovers spontaneously, because neuropraxia tends to disappear within 4-6 weeks.

Hopefully you will see improvement after that sort of time.

I’d be very interested to hear how you get on - keep me posted please.

Sentii, how long did it remain on? In addition to numbness, was there any other damage, such as bruising and discoloration? I have dozed off once or twice with a VacExtender on for up to 1.5 hours without any negative issues.

Hey everyone, I haven’t been around much since I have been avoiding thinking about my dick. It is still numb but I am pretty sure it is at least a little bit better. I don’t really have the ability to see a urologist right now, but what exactly would one do if I was to try to somehow be able to make it happen? How does a doppler test work and how does it help diagnose nerve issues?

I got the problem by wearing the PM Pro for a couple hours instead of the normal 30 minutes. I think I probably should never use it again, because it always made me numb if I wore it for more than 30 minutes. It seems to pinch my nerves or something. It seems to be unrelated to the tension in the device, as when I wear only the head (tried as a test) with no tension load, it still would produce the numbness.

So the numbness seems to be caused by pressure at the base of my glans. Maybe that will mean it will take less time to heal since I suppose the longest distance of damaged nerve would only be a few centimeters then.

Thank you immensely for the information on nerves. I would be interested in fact in even more if anyone could provide. For example, why does squeezing cause nerves to die, exactly? It has been about 5 weeks now and I would say I still have about 80% of the same amount of loss of sensation. Should I forget about girls for a while due to expectation that I will continue to improve at this kind of slow rate, or is it reasonable to hope that I could soon start to improve much more rapidly? Basically, I’m wondering whether or not recovery is generally linear, or is it more like sometimes some bruising can just dissipate after 6-8 weeks or whatever and then I might see much more rapid restoration of nerve activity thereafter.

dtwarren, there wasn’t anything else except the numbness.

by the way, I don’t have ED, I only don’t feel nearly as much during stimulation. And my glans generally seems to be less sensitive overall. During stimulation there is “something missing”. Also, when handling my dick to urinate and stuff like that (i.e. when I touch it flaccid), I can’t feel my hand as much and that kind of thing. It really is just like it has had a little bit of exposure to Novocaine or whatever.

It will heal, have mentioned several times in several threads how I got a numb, plastic feeling, shriveled up dick from using a noose extender, took me months to recuperate. And yes, I thought I had damaged myself for life and knew nothing about PE back then except the extender deal. Just give it time and maybe do some gentle massaging after having it heated up properly.

OK, that’s nothing like as serious as your first post made it out to be. It will take a while, but from that description, it’s not a serious injury and will recover with time. Absolutely no need for a Doppler test if you don’t have blood-flow related ED.

Ah yes, I see I was talking about being useless in the original post. What I meant was that I can’t satisfy women right now because sex with them wouldn’t work. My dick is numb, so I might get aroused, but I would not be able to maintain the erection because to do so during sex generally requires being able to feel something. This is a form of being useless to women sex-wise, but yeah, I have not ever had any ED beyond that my erection goes away quickly since I can’t feel anything and because being reminded of the numbness of your dick is depressing.

Well guys, I’m here to report that my dick seems to be pretty good now. So if you ever hear of someone getting very high numbness/nerve injury from pressure around the base of their glands, you can tell them there was a guy once who had that and it took about 7 weeks to recover.

I am not 100% recovered. But I would feel good about having sex again. I now have the sensitivity to be able to feel what is going on during sex and not be worried about going limp or anything like that.

The next step will be jelqing again. I tried a few days ago and it produced a strange itchy feeling that I have never felt before and that was disconcerting. So I will have to wait some more before wading back into PE. But I’m feeling good about things.
