Firm flaccid penis

I didn’t really have much to update but Saturday I woke up to a semi (sleeping on my chest), yesterday I was hanging good and today I woke up with a semi (30%) I then rolled over onto my back and sat up a little (I was too tired to get straight out of bed) next thing I know I have a full erection, I checked the time and the erection remained present for between three and a half and four minutes.

Personal update:

Ive stopped the daily cialis use after 6 months, and im back looking for answers.

Like many of you, my injury happened like a sudden metamorphosis during jelqing. The more i think about it, it reminds me of the flight v fight phenomenon gone wrong, where the body gets locked down to prevent further pain.

Ive been to the top endocrinologists, urologists and nerve specialists in Australia and all results/tests/scans have come back normal.

I have my first accupuncture session on wednesday

Hey guys. I figured I would add in again. I’m still doing alright, decent erections, frequent morning wood. I havent had the discomfort of a very firm flaccid for a long time.

I still have the mostly deflated glans and completley deflated CS. Also, the firm flaccid persists. Some say that the deflated glans and CS are normal for some men. If the firm flaccid is gone, and the deflation remains I will not mind one bit.

With that said, things still seem to be improving slowley. I think I will try one more supplement/healing cycle like I did in the past. This means I will get some L-arginine and do heat and massages daily again. I will also back off masturbation for a week. I have no faith it will work, but for as minor as my smptoms seem compared to how bad they were who knows.

I have been suffering from a hard flaccid for about a month now. I incurred the injury while jelquing at too hard off an erection and with too tight of a grip. I was a foolish noob who jumped in too deep too quick. I went to two urologists and thankfully, they could find no structural damage. Unfortunately, neither could find any explanation for the hard flaccid.

Immediately post trauma, my symptoms included:
*(Obviously) hard flaccid
* Decreased sensitivity (both tactile and temp sensation) of shaft and head
* Loss of sex drive
* Inability to become erect without intense mental and physical stimulation
* No morning wood whatsoever

From reading most of the posts regarding this issue, most people seem to have reported similar PIs.

Both urologists felt that whatever the issue was, it would likely resolve itself with time. While waiting for my insurance company to clear a neuro visit and with no clear prognosis or treatment, I began applying heat and cold packs religiously. I noticed sensation returning to my penis after a few days. About a week later, 80% sensation returned. I could get fairly good erections by just watching porn without physical stimulation. One day, I was using hot and cold packs and I became erect. I maintained the erection even with the cold pack applied. When I removed the cold pack, I something that terrified the living crap out of me. My head and most of my shaft were fully engorged, but an area of about 1/2” was completely flaccid-like. This was between my head and shaft!! I called one of the urologists the next morning and explained what had happened and he said it sounded like nerve damage. My insurance was still being a pain in the ass, so the uro called a friend of his on my behalf. Later that day, I spoke directly with a neurologist and he told me that it most likely localized nerve damage. Damaged nerves are unable to effectively communicate and they send mixed signals resulting in phantom pains, involuntary muscle contractions/spasms. The neurologist explained to me that since I have regained some sensation (and so quick) there is a good chance for acceptable recovery, if not full recovery. Thankfully penile nerves are part of the peripheral system which is fully capable of regenerating. Recovery from PNS damage depends on many factors including: age, extent of damage, overall health, and genetics. I have continued the hot and cold packs. The neuro said this is equivalent to physical therapy for this kind of injury. It encourages the nerves to “wake up.” He strongly suggested against sex and very very strongly against masturbation. Minor nerve damage can easily escalate into major nerve damage. Also, the body is trying to self correct and neuroregenerate. If you continue either activity, you increase the chances of permanent damage or at the least, delayed recovery.

It’s been about a month since my injury and I am happy to report, EQ quality is improving weekly. Morning wood has returned and with a good porn, I can get rock solid without any physical stimulation. My hard flaccid is more like a moderately firm flaccid now. I still have some recovery to do, but I can’t wait until I am 100%. I have not had an orgasm is four weeks! At 25 years old, four weeks without a good lay is like 4.5 years.

Anyways, if you determine you have this issue, STAY POSITIVE. Get some rest, try the hot and cold packs, learn to relax and try to take up some kind of hobby to keep your mind off your penis. It will only speed recovery. Also, read up on PNS regeneration. I have been taking a good daily vitamin and have been supplementing with mega doses of Methyl-B12. I don’t know if this is aiding recovery or working as placebo, but I’ll take it.

Since ive stopped the cialis, i get 60-70% morning wood, sex drive seems up a little bit but i cant be too sure. I havent had an erection without physical stimulation yet.
It does seem easier to focus on being turned on/aroused.
Iv masturbated 3 times since ending the cialis and two of those times i was surprised at the firmness of the erection.

Still early days, theres no gurantees its improved things, ill keep you posted.
Ive started up with mvs, fishoil and vit e daily as well.

Thanks for sharing slammaslamma. I really would be surprised if it were nerve damage. Although it is a complete shot in the dark, it would explain the loss of sensativity that some of us feel. I wish you the best and please report back in time to let us know how you turn out.

Yep, no change in supplements.

I’ve found that the biggest thing that worsens this situation for me is prolonged masturbation (edging), even if done only a little bit (slowing down and then returning to normal speed once the approaching ejaculation feeling has gone) or masturbating more than once in a single day.

By only masturbating a couple of times a week normally and by normally I mean the same speed and letting nature take its cause, even if that means ejaculating in five or ten minutes, my penis was still in its improved and improving state (penis not as firm, waking to solid nocturnal erections) however last night I edged for hours (stopping and starting) as well as ejaculating a few times and today my penis has been a lot firmer than it had been in the previous month.

I also noticed that my penis was a lot more sensitive and my whole masturbation experience was much more enjoyable when masturbating normally and only a couple of times a week.

Ditto to everything you’ve said james. Once or twice a week, spaced out will keep the firmness away for the most part and EQ will be fine. I have been following this routine for some time now and it is the only thing that has held true to making FF bearable.

Great post I’ve long suspected nerve damage, can you give us more info what type of packs how hot should the heat be, do we put it on the glands pull foreskin back? Would a shower work just as well? I’ve been trying it ever since I saw your post and..

I’ve noticed my glands are pretty numb, with cold water I don’t even feel it on the glands does that point to nerve damage?

Could you feel your glands with cold water?

Sometimes during the sessions my penis goes really firm, should I stop or carry on?

Everyone with the firm flaccid I suggest you go in the shower put the water on cold and put it on your penis head and see how much you feel it, if you don’t feel it I would say it’s nerve damage just a guess tho.

All you guys that think you have nerve damage,

It is more likely that you have an inflamed pelvic floor from over stressing these muscles. The anxiety that comes from the hard flaccid can make symptoms worse. When you are anxious your body tends to tense up. The tightness and inflammation of these muscles cut off the blood flow and put pressure on the nerves. I believe this is why you are experiencing loss of sensitivity.

Do you find that your symptoms change daily or weekly? If so try to find out what makes symptoms worse and what makes them better. Try to relax. I am willing to bet your symptoms are a lot less evident when you have your mind at ease.
