Frenulum Question

Just been circumcised this is day 8 and my frenulum is raised and swollen and painful will this go down or will it stay like this due to the way the urologist has done the procedure hopefully someone can answer my question

It won’t stay painful, but it will have more the appearance and character of shaft skin than the texture and ‘thinness’ of your previous frenulum. It looks like the surgeon has done a very neat job. The way the urologist has done it is a classic British circumcision. They tend to work very well and be problem-free.

So do you reckon once the swelling has gone down the it won’t be so lumpy because it is really annoying and doesn’t look normal

It will still look a lot more ‘lumpy’ than it did before. You may not immediately believe me, but no-one will ever notice. Being circumcised is relatively rare in the UK, and most people, male or female will just notice that you are circumcised, not the nature of your frenulum. Most women couldn’t tell you what a frenulum looks like anyway, and just assume that whatever they see is what they are supposed to be seeing. Most guys in the UK will think it a normal circumcised penis, which is exactly what it is. In the USA, they often completely remove the frenulum. I prefer the British method.

Ok thank you very much any tips on speeding up the healing process its currently very sore and I’m on antibiotics I have been putting Vaseline on the wound is this advisable or will this make it worse

Personally I’d avoid Vaseline or other petroleum derived products. Coconut oil (the hard type that melts at skin temperature, which you can buy at Holland & Barratt and which you can cook with or even eat on toast!) is anti-bacterial and a very efficient moisturiser. However, my choice would just be to leave it dry and allow it to heal naturally. The soreness won’t last much longer. I assume you have self dissolving stitches, which you don’t want to dissolve before they should, although inevitably a couple or more will.

Were you circumcised by choice, or, as I’m guessing, for phimosis?

Yes was for phimosis stitches still in still painful feels like its taking ages to heal

Only been what, 11 days? It’s quite a bit of cutting and stitching and with nocturnal erections etc. the stitches get pulled on quite a bit, so it does take a while. Still early days yet.
