Boron as EQ supplement

Some time ago I chanced on a thread about boron supplements to boost EQ and testosterone. There are a number of papers at nih.gov about it.

It turns out the type of boron used was simple borax, basically laundry soap. Borax is a powder, so I bought some #3 gel capsules and a loading tool to DIY. The borax payload only took 1/4 of the capsule volume, so I mixed one part of borax to three parts of hawthorn berry, then loaded the capsules. You don’t actually need the capsules, but I already got my mouth washed out with soap as a kid, and that was quite sufficient for me.

Hawthorn berry is supposed to be a diuretic; I was looking for an alternative to the prescription ones, but as far as I could tell hawthorn did nothing whatsoever, and the bottle had been sitting around a while. I figured it would do as an inert filler.

Good: I got very good results; more and harder morning wood, easier “fluffability”, and even spontaneous erections during the day after several days. And it’s dirt cheap.

Bad: After two days - two doses - I get short-tempered and snappish. Enough that I noticed. Even dosing every third day still has a noticeable (but much smaller) effect.

I need to pull the capsules apart and re-load them at 1-to-6 or 1-to-9 instead of 1-to-3; it’s possible the dosage is simply too high.

Anyway, I’ve been cycling on and off and logging the results since January, and it’s consistent… for me. It might not be an issue for other people.

Sodium tetraborate decahydrate (borax) is 11.3% boron and has a density of 1.73g/cc. I was taking 120mg per dose, if my math was correct. One paper said they used calcium fructoborate; I didn’t try that, but it’s available already packaged as a dietary supplement, so you don’t have to DIY.

It’s not Viagra or TRT, and I found the irritability side effect to be unwelcome, but it did help my EQ problem. I don’t know if it’s permanent, but after the first week, I only need to take one a week or so, like it got me over some kind of hump, and now I’m just maintaining.

Anyway, from a completely unscientific sample size of one, that’s how it worked for me.

120mg/day? This article says maximum daily for adults is 20 mg/d, and too much boron can be fatal.

I would strongly suggest you stop taking borax. While it does contain boron, Borax is considered poisonous to humans. If you get an official boron supplement, it will have a form that’s safe, which won’t be Borax.

“Borax is not safe to ingest. According to the NLM’s Toxicology Data Network, borax is easy for the body to break down when either inhaled or swallowed. However, if inhalation or ingestion occurs, both serious poisoning and organ damage can result.”

What I’ve seen recommended is 6 mg per day of boron. That’s what I take (Swanson Tri-Boron), and it does have EQ benefits. My understanding is that boron raises the level of free testoterone. So it slows down the conversion of free testosterone to bound testosterone. But it may also potentially increase estradiol.

Boron is amazing!

I can’t put it all into words, but since I started taking boron about 2 weeks ago (can’t remember if its been that long, at least 10 days I think) my penis is just much more full all day, and my hard on strength and quickness of getting fully hard are both through the roof!!! I can’t describe how it feels, but I feel more awesome all day and night since taking it.

I did a lot of reading on boron and it looks like about 12mg/day is the limit for safe use. I have 3mg pills. I’ve been taking one in the morning with food and then one in the afternoon with a snack OR one in the evening with dinner. I have taken 1 in the am, 1 afternoon and 1 evening and my erection was off the damn charts. I’m usually able to get hard and stay hard with stimulation; without stimulation I’m only hard for 15 seconds to about a minute (been like that since I was young maybe early 20s) but with boron in my diet I’m hard for almost a minute all the time the last week or so.

I took a look into boron and found it can be good for treating osteoarthritis, so I am going to try taking 3mg pills 2 to 3 times per day. Sure hope it helps with my left hip and knee.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Do a bit of reading on cherries/ cherry supplement for arthritis; it may surprise you.

Thanks, I have been taking tart cherry capsules, 400mg three times per day, but hard to say if it is helping much. Also have tart cherry juice, but that’s loaded with sugar.

Have you looked into any kind of gold treatments? According to Edgar Cayce, arthritis he said was the lack of the vibration of gold. Not necessarily the lack of the element itself but the vibration of it. In some yes, it would be the lack of the element itself. We are all born with certain levels of gold in us. So some have found colloidal gold to be helpful. Cayce used some kind of device to “transmit” the vibrations of gold. It was this lack of vibration/communication which leads to the autoimmune response in the body causing arthritis he said.

As for boron, I find it fascinating in that it is formed from cosmic rays. While I’ve seen it called uninspiring by some, boron has a lot of uses. Any search engine will inform anyone of them but I don’t know how many things are formed out there by cosmic rays. That alone I find…inspiring.

Nothing Boring About Boron

The research about it is AMAZING. What it does for the testosterone/vitamine D, and thus also the bones and hormones, is flabbergasting.

Im going to look for a good plug and take this soon.

Borax is fine, so long as you are only taking enough to be getting your 3mg boron per day. Personally I found better results dosing only MWF with 6mg boron (you need to calculate from the borax molecule to find the right amount).

I do 3mg of boron in the morning and another 3mg at dinner. Erections are through the roof now! They were always quite good, but I don’t know, they just pop up now quickly from very little stimulation; sometimes just thoughts bring me to midway, or if my wife is around and there’s any kind of talk or inkling towards my penis, I start to get a semi just from thinking about being with her or if she’s looking at it. I am a bit fuller all day too.

I have also done the 3mg in the morning and then 6mg at dinner, and its boner town for sure. I feel very good a lot more of the time now, I just feel like all the vitamins I’m taking are doing something or going where they need to go. Like yesterday I was already looking forward to working on a publication this weekend and I haven’t been in the mood to work on it for a month or so. I just feel like I have the drive to do more and especially with things I’m having a hard time bringing myself to get done.

Oh, I’ve also skipped the morning dose and had either 3mg or 6mg with dinner and the results with my erection that night are still amazing but I’m not as full in my pants all day. When I take it in the morning any slight squeeze or grab of my penis makes it swell really fast to half mast and just serious jerking for a few seconds can bring it to full mast whether I want to get hard or not. Normally I can do this without boron but it takes a little longer. Its like the blood just moves faster now. Hard to figure out but I feel great all over that’s all I know!

Yes. Boron produces harder erections for me. I take inexpensive boron (as amino acid chelate) supplement 3 mg, 3 times daily. I rarely use my walking cane after 3 years of boron use. I doubt it will reverse arthritis but it may have stopped or slowed it down. I will be getting images of my back and hips soon prior to possible stem cell.

How long it went at first to notice some progress?
