CENTRUM Multi-vitamin

CENTRUM Multi-vitamin

Does anybody have any experiences/opinions on these pills?

They claim “Complete from A to Zinc” which is catchy, but is it enough to sway me into buying some?

I think the GNC "Mega Men" vitamin is a superior product and it’s relatively inexpensive, especially if you get a Gold Card. GNC gives you 20% off your purchases if you enroll. You can really save some money if you buy supplements on a regular basis as well. A link to the "Mega Men" vitamin ingredients:

Yeah, they are making multivitamins targeted for men. For instance, regular multivitamins have iron in them, but many men don’t need iron at all. So the mens’ versions of multivitamins reduce the amount of iron or even don’t contain any iron at all. Too much iron in men has been linked to cancer I think. I’ve taken One a Day brand that is just for men, at times ,that I bought at walmart. Walmart might even have their version of it. Women tend to need iron.

In the December issue of Men’s Health, they rate Centrum Silver as their number one choice for a mans vitamins needs. In second place, One-A-Day Men’s Health Formula. Neither of these formulas contain iron, an excess of which for men is unhealthy and can lead to heart and other problems. I take the One-A-Day Men’s Health Formula, as it contains more Selenium then the Centrum which is good for prostate health.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Dont expect overnight results from a multi. It takes time and consistency to get results (along with a healthy diet and exercise). But, gradually, you will feel a change with prolonged use.

I thought that Centrum Silver was for men and women over 50? How does this apply to some of us younger guys? Still the best?

Men’s Health Mag acknowledged the fact that Centrum Silver was made for us ole folk, but still said because of the great ingredients and no iron content, it was their favorite for men of all ages.

I’ll give Centrum Silver a try. After this discussion and some other reading, I’m not going to use the GNC “Megamen”. I think it has too many extra ingredients that I probably don’t need. Thanks.

My general practioner - internist doctor told me to stop my other vitamins and go with Centrum Silver, so I have been on them for about 4 months, and feel great.

Actually, I even feel great when I don’t vitamins. Go figure.

The main factors I have always looked at in multi-vitamins were contents vs cost. I took Centrum Forte for several years but had switched to a generic version called Spectrum which was cheaper and had greater quantities of all ingredients plus a few additional vitamins and minerals. I have recently changed to Quest Super-Once-A-Day and if you check this out I think you’ll find that the cost versus ingredient quantities is superior to most.

As an early fourties male, I’m interested in supplements for the older man. Have not heard of the link of iron intake to cancer in men but would be interested if anyone has more information. I take additional amounts of the standard anti-oxidant or cancer fighting supplements which include Vitamins A,C,E and the mineral zinc. I find extra B complex is a good energy booster and stress reducer (also an interesting effect on urine colour BTW).

Iron is not linked to cancer, but to quote Men’s Health: “Iron is a mineral that can increase some men’s risk of heart disease and Parkinson’s disease”

The deal with iron is that most men have a lot of meat and other foods in their diet that naturally supplies plenty of iron, so that no supplementation is necessary. So, if you are taking a vitamin supplement that includes iron, you may be over doing it in the iron department.
