I see that a lot of guys at thunder’s take a multivitamine supplement but I don’t really get it. As far as I know you should eat a certain quantity of fruits and vegetables and you won’t have to worry about your vitamine intake. It really looks like there is a pill for everything.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m also taking a bunch of supplements and I get enough critized by my family and friends. ;)
I tend to agree with this. Thats why when you do feel the need to take a vitamin I like a condensed food source vitamin (freeze dried and compressed veg, fruits, herbs etc).
The exception is minerals. I think a amino acid chelated multi mineral is of great value. I think coral calcium is also of value for the trace and rare earth minerals. I think its important to get the full range of the 72 minerals.
I think best of all is seaweed as a source of minerals, because the ocean is really the only place that is fully mineralized. The seaweed uptakes the minerals and converts it to a highly absorbable form (100%). Also most seafood is rich in minerals, because the entire Ocean food chain is rich in minerals. The only downside is that heavy metals and pesticides also tend to concentrate as you eat higher up on the food chain.
The answer is seaweed from pristine waters, or as clean as can be found like the Artic or Iceland and some other areas. Icelandic kelp is very good, the only caveat is that it is also very high in iodine and that can be the limiting factor in how much you can take.
