Can anyone tell me what the best multivitamin on the market is?

You can get a lot of different answers for this one. According to Men’s Health Magazine, go for One-A-Day Men’s Health Formula or Centrum Silver, yes, silver, no matter what your age. There really is no need to buy expensive brands that offer mega doses like 1000% of various ingredients. You will literally be pissing your money down the toilet.

I guess I should of stated I’m 28yrs old in good health, just looking for a daily vitamin. Thanks for the responses so far.

Then just pick the One-A-Day for Men.

Absorption of minerals that are bonded with oxides and sulfates is about 5-10%, when they are amino acid chelated, the absorption goes up to about 60-70%. That is a BIG difference.

I have seen patients with heart arrhythmias taking magnesium sulfate with very little changes. When they switch to magnesium aspartate or orotate, the problem can dramatically improve.

There IS a difference in products and frankly I think Centrum and some of the most popular vitamins are damn near worthless in the mineral department.

Can you suggest a product name?

I second that.

How about magnesium citrate? Is that OK?

The problem is the crappy minerals are also far cheaper to use, so the profit margin goes up. There are lots of good companies that will try to sneak the shit into a formula and save money, so you really have to read the labels.

The common amino acids used to chelate are citrate, lactate, malate, orotate, apartate, picolinate…there are others, but these are the most common. I think orotate, aspartate and malate are better, but really any of these will be fine.

What you want to avoid is any mineral that has oxide or sulfate after the mineral name. If you must take that shit, grind it to powder and take it with some type of milk or apple juice. This will aid your body binding it with the malic acid or lactic acid, it has to chelate it to absorb it.

Magnesium citrate isn’t bad. When I have to recommend magnesium because of something serious, I like to recommend Solaray’s Magnesium Asporotate, which is their own blend of apartate and orotate in a capsule. I have them take that to see what kind of improvement they can get, then they can go to a cheaper formula and see if they retain the benefit.

Having said that, I like some of the formulas from Solaray, KAL, Twinlabs, SuperNutrition to name a few.

There are many good formulas out there, but really the real key to see if they are trying to produce a good formula, or just want to rip you off is to look at the minerals and see what form they are putting in. If its nothing but oxides and sulfates, drop it like a hot potato!

The vitamin components aren’t as critical, these days I am moving more toward condensed foods, as it seems these have the biggest impact on health. For example there is a formula that actually sweetens the taste of your cum (only on Thunders can I talk about this stuff! :) ) What they found through a lot of experimentation is only freeze dried versions of pineapple, celery and some other shit ( I forget now) worked. Well, that makes sense, because freeze drying preserves most of the vitamins and enzymes. That shit probably is good for your health too!

Ideally, I think doing something like juicing is best for improving your health and getting highly absorbable vitamins, eat good, whole foods, lots of fruits and vegetables. Try to eat a lot of raw fruit and vegetables, rotate through many different ones, and take a good amino acid chelated multi-mineral, make most of your fats essential fatty acids including fish oil and flax…get exercise, be happy and you will maximize your health.

Hey Sparkyx!

I take a Magnesium oxide that contains a zinc chelation. I’m wondering if then the chelation in the Zinc would in turn cover increase the absorption of the magnesium beings they are both together in one supplement. And if the amino acids I take would in turn increase the absorption of the multi vitamin/mineral.

I thought that Calcium prohibited the absorption of zinc and that having milk and Magnesium together might give you diarrhea.

You can get calcium, magnesium zinc in combonation. I’m not sure if calcium blocks zinc I will have to study that. However magnesium will help keep calcium in control. I tend to accumulate too much calcium so I take a higher ratio of magnesium to keep calcium at bay. I don’t supplement calcium.

You can buy calcium citrate and magnesium citrate at most drug stores.

Sparkyx!

What about coral calcium what is your view on this supplement?

Theoretically I like it. It is a source of broad spectrum minerals, which are very important. After a lot of research I think the above ground source is best…lots of reasons. I found this to be the best and cheapest source for it.
