:) Sounds like fun, I’m glad it worked out so well.

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

Hi all, having read this entire thread (as well as a few others on Thunder’s on Propecia side effects), I think I may be in the “Propecia ED” crowd. I started taking Proscar (5mg cut into quarters) about 6 months ago, then about 2 months ago I noticed I started having problems maintaining an erection (also decreased semen volumes and semen seems watery) and it has gradually gotten worse, to the point where today in the middle of sex with my wife, I went completely flaccid (suffice to say she thinks the last couple months are because she is doing something wrong, which I adamantly deny, as I am still very sexually attracted to her). Also in hindsight I have maybe had 2 or 3 morning woods in the last couple months, where as prior to that I would always have morning wood and even wake up in the night with rock hard erections. What is strange is I am still horny all the time and feel very sexually frustrated from not being able to have a nice “normal” ejaculation

So my “question” to anyone who would like to respond is “I noticed some posts suggesting smaller doses, so would taking the dosage of the Proscar down to 0.625mg be enough for hair loss treatment (for the average person)? Or is the 1.25mg dosage what I should be taking if I want to keep taking it? I am hoping this is a temporary “problem” since I seemed as if I was doing very well for the first 4 months.

I ordered some bulk taladafil from bulk airmail to make some liquid cialis, would this be an option temporarily for someone in my situation, has anyone with ED issues on Propecia tried ED meds as a temp solution, if so was it successful?

Also I am looking at purchasing the Rogaine foam and was wondering if anyone had a good source for purchase that will ship to Canada?

Cheers and thanks on advance for any help,

Zed

P.S. Not sure if it’s relevant but I am 37 and my PE is some Uli’s, Dry Jelqing, and casual water pumping (maybe 3/4 times a week) for about a year now.

Since this seems to be the largest thread on finasteride I’m going to post here instead of starting a new thread…my question is related to dosage as well- did anyone take a .625mg dose and still grow hair? I am concerned because I am losing my hair and i have recently been researching about supplements that increase testosterone but it would seem that this free testosterone is wwhat gets converted to DHT and causes the hair loss in the first place! If I took anything for testo would my hair loss increase or would there still only be the same amount of alpha-5-reductase so even though hairloss would continue I’d have more testo? I have read up about all of the problems but I think that I may as well try it because I’m starting to get a little bit depressed tbh. The main thing I want to know is should I start on 1mg a day or with a lower dose unitl my body gets used to it. Also, I know that the half life is only 8ish hrs but if I was to take 1mg every other day surely it will still reduce the DHT and give results?

Not 100% sure if this is right but would taking an estogen blocker like 6-oxo prevent the problems it causes with ED and libido?

Okay I have done research but obviously a lot is opinion so I think these are the facts- please let me know if I’m wrong:

The conversion of free testosterone into DHT causes hairloss in those that have scalps sensitive to this hormone by binding to the hair follicle starving it of nutrients. Finasteride works by reducing the amount of testo that is converted to DHT so that there is an overall decrease in DHT.

This should slow down hair loss and may grow some back.

My question is - in men, excess free testosterone is converted into estrogen so will taking finasteride cause the normal amount to convert to estrogen as well as the extra that isn’t being converted to DHT? Is this what causes the gyno and other side effects? To relate to my post above- does anyone know/use estrogen blockers that are effective? Will working out in the gym use this free testosterone effectively or will it just increase testo more and hence increase estrogen more?

Do the people that take Proscar actually purchase Proscar or Fincar? Are there more reported problems for Fincar?

You could try stopping and see if the problem went away. They don’t have Rogaine foam in drug stores in Canada? I haven’t seen it cheap anywhere on the internet. If your not getting wood I would think it could be form the propecia for sure. It could be a natural problem with the beginning of ED 37 is about the age things start to go if their not taken care of, most likely a combination of both.

Thanks Dino, any input for my other questions? I’ve already bought some fincar from united pharmacies but I’m still curious about the estrogen blockers.

While I can’t say for sure your conclusion is similar to my own. And going to the gym is always a good thing and will most likely not have any adverse effects with estrogen.

I’ve been on minoxidil for several years and recently whether I lower the dosage or raise it, I’m just losing the battle on the front lines. Is propecia going to fuck up my erections? I’ve probably got another 5 years at this rate, should I just look for a nice hat?

Hey Bro just try it but be prepared it may screw with your erections especially in the first month. With me whenever I go on it the first month I get a big drop off in sexual desire than it levels off to maybe around 10% decline. You can order from the Indian supplier and it’s cheap enough. I may go back on myself for six months just to thicken up my hair. I hate the stuff but it does work:(

Anybody know the shelf life of propecia, I still have a bunch but noticed they expired about 10 months ago, thinking about going back on for a while but don’t want to order new stuff and spend the money.

Got me Dino , but I don’t think they would be bad yet.
