Propecia problems?

I’ve been off Propecia for four weeks now, and I’m pretty much back to normal. In fact, last night I had my first two-orgasm sex romp in nine years! (I was on Propecia for about 15 months.) I was very happy about that… it would have been unthinkable not too long ago. Morning wood is occasional, probably normal frequency for my age (32 years), and a good deal more frequent than when I was taking Propecia. I’m glad I went off it for sure.

I sort of have over the past few days. Last month was opposite though. I would only get almost rock hard right before I orgasmed, but it didn’t take me long to reach that point. Lately my erection has been consistent at about 50% or so when I’m masturbating, and it’s taking longer to reach climax. I feel over the past few days my libido has really went down. I’ve been on Propecia for 2.5 years now. I started right before I turned 22.

When I wake up in the morning, I can mentally work my way into an erection, but it will only stay up without manual stimulation for roughly a minute or less. I noticed problems right when I first started taking the pill, but it wasn’t bad enough for me to stop at that time. I’m realizing now that it was a gradual decline. I think it really started taking a turn for the worse over the past 6 months or so. As for now, I’m done with Propecia. I spent the evening reading horror stories online, but I have a positive attitude, so I think my side effects will leave soon.

Well thoughts after 2 plus months off Propecia. My hair is doing well I really do feel that between the Genhair 15-5 and the Revivogen my hair may be starting to look better than when on the Propecia. I did have a period that it looked like my roots were starting to thin but now they seem to be thickening up again. Also my night wood continues to be diamond hard and almost annoying in a great way. And my weight lost continues doing well with just a change in diet and my normal amount of exercise. So far I have lost about 15 pounds which is even making my dick look bigger and speaking of dick I have irked out a small gain and feel that I’m at least moving in the right direction again. My balls and my sex drive are normal again also my flaccid size is normal again but without as many size fluctuations as I used to get. So far I see no reason to go back on and I’m hoping that it stays that way until I’m to old to care about hair and sex.

Congrats bud. I hope it continues for you. Monitor your hair closely my friend because although I might sound like a downer saying this: 2 months is too early to break out the champagne.

So as of now you are using 15% minoxidil, Revivogen, and Nizoral?

Yeah I hear you I’m watching and if I have to I will have to make the call on going back on or going bald:)

I’m doing the Genhair 15-5 at night before bed I let it dry than use the Revivogen and than in the morning I wash my hair either with the Revivogen shampoo or the Nizoral 1%

Okay I am finding some of the same things as Dino.

I have been off for a few months now maybe even four or five. My nite time wood is returning regularly. I have not lost any hair yet although I am watching it carefully and will go on Rogaine if it does.

I too, am able to achieve some weight loss now doing the same amount of exercise I did before. Now what the fuck is that all about?

The propecia sucks group that I belong too constantly has new members making complaints about propecia, the FDA should really add to the warnings.

You all are still missing the point... The story was great and all but should have ass (and) some anal in it.- RWG

Anybody thinking about getting off the Propecia I just wanted to let you guys know I think my hair routine is working very well. The big test is I’m getting my hair cut this week or next and I’m getting it cut short, right now it’s really long so it’s hard to see any thinning areas. But it looks to me that my roots are getting thicker so I’m happy about that. The Propecia was so much cheaper though I could get it from India for like six bucks a month so it was sweet cost wise. At first it did seem like the roots were shrinking but now they seem to be getting thicker. So at least for now I’m free of Propecia I’m hopeful that some day they will really find something that cures male pattern baldness so I can stop having to rub crap on my scalp every night. Well anyway I’m glad I started before I lost my hair and will continue to fight hair lose until I stop caring:) . “I'm so vain I and I always did think that song was about me”

Dino,

I’m glad the no propecia routine is working out for you. As I’ve mentioned before, I cut back my dose of propecia in half to only .5 mg daily for the last 18 months and have suffered no hair thinning. In the past two months, I started once again using rogaine, but it’s the new 5% foam type. This is so much better and easier to apply than the previous liquid form, and I’m not having the dry scalp problems that the original rogaine liquid gave me years ago. The rogaine has helped to start new hair growth in certain parts of my temple where thinning had occurred years ago. I’m really happy about this. At some point in the next year and if I continue to be successul with the foam rogaine, I may try to completely drop the propecia dose and stick with the foam rogaine only. My dad went bald and so did my older brother, but I’ve been able to maintain most of my thick wavy hair and want to keep it that way. I’ll join you in attributing the Carly Simon “You’re So Vain” song to me also.

Good luck bro.

If you do decide to stop I would at least add Revivogen with your foam:) . I’m glad you got the song after I posted it I was thinking all the young guys on this board never even heard of Carly Simon:) .

Dino,

I’ll check out the Revivogen for sure if I drop the propecia. I kind of miss the days when songs had lyrics and melodies that were memorable and relevant. Maybe it’s just my middle age musical melancoly talking.

Two absolute necessities are Rogaine and Nizoral if no Finasteride is being used.

"Look what your brother did to the door!"

Have those of you that have quit finasteride! Are you noticing any PE gains from the rebounding DHT or more specifically warmth in the penis. Especially in the two week to six week period after cessation.

This is the primary secret in the “what is the doctors secret “thread. He uses suppression of DHT with finasteride for six months to allow receptors to re-sensitize, thus allowing further growth past puberty. He also supplements with topical DHT, I believe after stopping the finasteride. He also uses light vacuum ads and mild exercise.

He reported that he experienced a very warm penis during the period after finasteride when he had most of his growth.

redak

Dude read the beginning of the thread I was getting a huge flaccid and spontaneous erection and mood swings I really believe my hormones were out of whack and trying to balance themselves out. I have irked out a unconfirmed small gain and I have lost a lot of weight:) .

I’ve been off Propecia for almost 2 months now, and I’ve had a noticeable increase in libido and in my erections. I still don’t feel 100% back to normal, but I’m getting there. I recently started using Rogaine foam. It says that it’s only effective on the crown area of the scalp, but most of my thinning is in the front. Does anyone have experience with Rogaine helping out in the front? I’m thinking about adding Spiro Cream or Nizoral to routine. Which is the best to use for frontal thinning? Thanks!

Genhair 15-5 and the Revivogen with Revivogen shampoo and nizoral shampo has been working great for me.
