Propecia problems?

I just ordered some Revivogen!!!

On a side note, has anyone noticed that George HW Bush started losing his hair in his early 20s, and now, some 60 years later, he’s almost still at the same level of hairloss? How did he do that?

Age 20: http://www.usconstitution.com/$so$1/georgehwbush20.jpg

During his presidency:

Now I know there’s a little difference, but you would think that with his receding hairline in the first pic, he would be bald by now. The first pic is the best that I could find when he was in his early 20s. I saw a better pic on a TV biography one time, that showed his receding hairline, in a flightsuit. Very recognizable hairloss at an early age. Hmmm….

Hey guys after reading this post I am getting very scared. I am 24 years old my dad is totally bald and I have just started to loss some hair in my temple area. So I went to the doctor and he gave me a proscription for Propecia. I have been on it for 2 weeks. I have not noticed any side effects as of yet.

He told me that Propecia actual increases testosterone by 15-20%. I guess he was not telling the truth. He is basically one of the doctors that does the hair implants where they take it from the back of your head and transfer it to your balding areas. I think since he knew I wasn’t getting the implants any time soon he wanted to make the 75 bucks it cost me to get the proscription.

Well after reading this thread I am going to stop taking it. What do you guys recommend for a 24 year old with a Bald dad that is just now starting to lose some hair in the temples. I am not losing it any where else yet so I am not sure if I will go bald or not. I have a lot of scars on my head so I really don’t want to.

Thanks

After 18 weeks of PE 8/12/06--->NBPEL 6.75 BPEL 7.25 EG 5.25

New Start 3/1/07-->NBPEL 6.5 BPEL 7.15 EG 5.0

Now 06/8/07------>NBPEL 6.85 BPEL 7.4 EG 5.5

Why aren’t you getting it done?

He might not be lying Propecia cuts down DHT conversation not testosterone production and your body might actually try to make more testosterone to balance out the shortage of DHT. The problem is you need your DHT but you don’t need it on your scalp. So read my routine in this thread it has been working very well for me if you want to avoid Propecia but act now because you can save thinning hair but once it’s really gone it’s pretty much gone.

My new routine is Revivogen at night, Revivogen shampoo in the morning, followed by Rogain foam. Is there anything else I might could add?

I was considering trying the topical Propecia from gen hair. But the stories I’ve been reading here have me scared to try. Anyone using it?

If money isn’t an issue drop the foam and add Genhair 15-5 so far I really like it

I wish you would try I’m so curious if a topical formula would work and you most likely wouldn’t get enough in your bloodstream to effect anything bad I think but I’m not sure.

Topical Finasteride was shown to have a slight effect but only because of its systemic absorption. As of now, I would say if you want to avoid Propecia (Finasteride) then the best topical solutions for fighting off DHT would be:

-5% Spiro Cream
-Revivogen
-Nizoral 2%
-Fluridil (maybe)

"Look what your brother did to the door!"

Oh I’m so confused. I’ve been using minox 5%,and Nizoral for about six months,or a bit longer. I have noticed a slight improvement in hair count on my crown, but nothing I’m really excited about. As I discussed before, I couldn’t have anything in my system that couldn’t be accounted for. That’s all behind me now, and I’m anxious to try to kick start this hair program. The trouble I have is that a: my hair is very dark, almost black, and b: it’s very long. So, consequently, my bald patch sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe I haven’t given the minox long enough to work. Any thoughts?

I’d rather go bald than to lose the power of erection.

Hey Bro

Minox alone will maybe stop your hair lose and maybe grow a little back on the crown but don’t expect anything great. You should add Revivogen or something like it that fights DHT. Nizoral helps but only as part of program not as the main DHT fighter.

Thanks Dino. I’ll be ordering the Revivogen today.

Well big update I’m back on Propecia and not for the reason of my hair because my hair was doing fine. It’s an experiment to see why at the same time I went off Propecia my blood pressure went up. I need to know if it was just chance or it was somehow connected maybe to the crap I was rubbing on my scalp. Or maybe going cold turkey off Propecia isn’t a great idea. One of the side effects of minox is high blood pressure and I was using the 15% so maybe that could be the cause. So I went back on I still had a couple of months worth and I want to see what happens when I stop rubbing the crap on my head and I don’t want to lose my hair while doing this. I’m also curious to see if the Propecia was somehow responsible for my change in blood pressure. Sure it could be just a natural thing I needed to lose some weight but it was just weird that I went form boarder line low blood pressure to high blood pressure pretty much overnight.

Things I noticed back on Propecia, a smaller flaccid and my sex drive has decreased. It’s only been four days so I’m going to see what happens. So far no change on the blood pressure well maybe a little better but I can’t say for sure. I’m going to try it at least for the next month and see if it makes no difference I will ween myself off and resume my scalp routine.
