Saw Palmetto (Serenoa Repens) in multivitamin: possible sexual sides?
Hi guys,
I have taken for about a year, quite discontinuously, a multivitamin named ADAM 120 tablets, known to be one of the best products available (or so I read about everywhere). I’m taking it, obviously, for vitamins and minerals, and NOT for the ingredient I’ll talk about now.
When I bought it online last week, I noticed a component I never paid attention to, “Saw Palmetto”, Serenoa Repens. 160 mg per 2 tablets, when 2 tablets is the serving.
Well, here’s the thing: I found some sources saying it can cause impotence on the long run, some others saying instead it was used in the past as aphrodisiac, and even some comparing its side effects to Finasteride (gosh!).
I would like to have some opinions about it. Maybe someone here has used ADAM, or saw palmetto separately, or knows about its effects or can find sources I’ve not been able to.
I like that multivitamin and, I’m saying it again, it’s not the first time I’m trying it…but I don’t want to trade a good supplement with a possible impotence or libido loss.
I used the searching tool, but found only really old posts which don’t actually report detailed answers or statements.
Sorry, Mods, for the long title.
Thanks in advice to those who will answer me.
