Laser combs for hair loss?

I should also add that I believe the inflammation and immune response plays a big part in balding. Almost as big as DHT and hormones do. This is why Nizoral is so important as well as a copper peptide product (if you have the extra money. Copper peptides aren’t completely necessary but I think they help a little)

I personally prefer Folligen but many folks hate it. It is green and kind of messy, not to mention it stings a bit for the first few weeks you use it. The good news is that you only need to use it about 4 times a week.

Another Copper peptide is Tricomin which went through phase 2 FDA trials and out performed 2% Minoxidil. The problem, however, was that the company, Procyte, did not want to spend the moulah to go to phase 3 and therefore marketed their product as a ‘cosmetic’ and is therefore weaker than the treatment that was tested by the FDA. I have tried Tricomin and it leaves your hair nice (it has leave in conditioners) but I felt it did little for my loss after 1 year’s use.

Phew, I just wrote alot! Maybe I should cut and paste this on the other hairloss threads ;)

I used the laser for 6 months. It was a pain in the butt to use eventhough you only need to do it every other day and I saw little in the way of results.

If you are serious about fighting hairloss I strongly suggest what is commonly known as the BIG 3. Finasteride, Minoxidil, and Nizoral. There are other effective treatments out there but these 3 should be your foundation.

If you are worried about taking an oral 5ar inhibitor like Finasteride then give a topical antiandrogen or 5ar inhibitor a try. I suggest either topical Spiro or Revivogen.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the tip on the laser so far no one on the forum can say anything positive that they have actually grew hair from using one so I’m not going to blow all that coin on one.

I think the problem with the laser is that a cheap one won’t work. Most of the research was done with a very expensive high quality.

Its the same in rehab. My good friend uses cold laser and says its amazing, but he said any unit for less than $16,000.00 was worthless.

I may be that going to a clinic with a real good one might be worth looking into.

Provided you have a good amount of “donor” area, sixteen thousand will buy a hell of a bunch of hair transplants.

For 16 grand I want a fucking laser that can shoot down a satellite:)

A satellite shaped like a nice toupee, so when it lands on my head, viola! New hair . :)

From what I’ve read you need to use hair stuff for 6 months before you will see results due to your hairs natural cycle.

The laser combs have been FDA approved but apparently it’s much easier to get a device approved than a drug, and there is the problem of getting a good one.

I have just noticed some serious thinning/growing bald spot so started to do some research. One thing that has some great results is the big three as mentioned but also new combinations of minoxidil with Finasteride in it as well as retin-a and azleacic (sp?) acid. But these are very expensive so what i’ve done is add some liquid finasteride into my minoxidil, I’m still trying to find liquid versions of the other two so I can add them as well but so far to no avail(if anyone knows where I can get these please let me know) I also plan on adding Tricomin or Revivogen… who knows maybe I’ll be putting stuff on my head for an hour or two a day soon :(

I’m also taking oral Finasteride, but planning on switching to Dustaride (Avodart) when I run out (8 months from now) as that has an even higher success rate in studies, but is still not FDA approved… and has the same potential side effects (sexual) as Finasteride.. but I have not experienced those myself.

Another

A great site I found is called hair loss talk and it seems like a pretty legitimate site, and have some very promising before and after photos.

Side note- soes anyone know how long after your hair falls out does the follicle die? I want to save the ones I have.

Stubby-

you have no idea what you are talking about. I used nizoral and it made my scalp flaky anyone have this issue?

Hey bro sorry I didn’t see this post, I’m surprised it made your scalp flaky because it’s a dandruff shampoo. If anything since using nizoral I have never had a flake and I used to get flakes all the time in the winter. I only use the 1% though and don’t use it everyday.

Well, I guess it’s only a matter of time til we have a “Laser PE” section in this forum.
