Looks essentials THE HELPERS GUIDE

Been a while huh?

More male friendly tips, every guy should know! (From manly man, to metro)

Once a week,

Mix about 1/4 tablespoon of SUGAR into your face wash. Scrub it on your face to exfoliate. Might as well scrub your lips while your at it and kill 2 birds with one stone. You don’t need to buy the special exfoliating face scrubs that cost anywhere from 6-25 dollars. Just buy regular face wash for like 3 bucks, and mix it in once or twice a week. Twice if your skin is oily.

Boil some water and try to pull some pasta in it. I’ve notice the flour from the pasta get the water a thicker more puncturing steam. Place your face above the steam for about 5-8 minute. (Take small breaks if you need too) it will open up your pores so you can squeeze out clogged pours, and blackhead. You can use your hand, just make sure you wash underneath your nails with antibacterial soap.

^ Do not pop active pimples. It can scar.

If you have bags or dark circles under the eyes, you can use Abreva/ cold sore cream on it. I forgot the active ingredient in it that makes your bags/dark circles disappear. (You don’t have to use the name brand, just buy a knock-off version) It works in minutes, and it’s what make-up artist’s use on actors/models.

I would suggest you buy a tongue scrapper. (Cost rough 2-4 dollars) Go look in the mirror right now, and if your tongue is coated either white or yellow, you need it. Even if your tongue is red/pink, you should use it once everyone morning along with brushing your teeth and flossing. Also, just note not to scrap your tongue so hard. You don’t wanna scrap off your tastebuds! Ditch the mouthwash you buy every month/week. Especially if it contains alcohol. It can cost you a little more then a 100$ a year, and has been proven to wear off within a hour or 2. (Fresh breath)

^ Do this combo, and I’m sure you won’t have bad breath.

Don’t use hair-gel or even hairspray for that matter. Unless you want to look like a douche on jersey shore, almost every women now, likes hair that they can possibly run their fingers through, or it doesn’t look like you can poke someone’s eye out. I personally recommend wax, or molding putty.

Got a pimple? Dab a small amount of toothpaste on it. If it does not go away and it dries up inside your skin, pop it out! No need to buy expensive acne creams for pimples that show up now and then.

I’m telling you, getting even 100 grams of lean muscle per week is optimistic because that’s 4.8 kg (10.6 lbs) of lean muscle a year. Very hard to do naturally.

Well, easy example.

Taylor lautner was given less then 7 months to gain muscle before filming New Moon and put on over 25 pounds of muscle mass. Now, you look at his body and tell me it’s not muscle mass. He’s a 17 year old kid, and he manage to gain over 25 pounds of muscle in about/less 7 months. I responded early saying .5-1 pounds is possible per week. (Not considering your body adaption to repeative exercise)

I can’t sleep and don’t have work so I’m going to go pick up a bottle of sesame oil and try it tonight. Also, I agree with the practicing photo angles, I am not a bad looking guy but take TERRIBLE photos. I always seem to be trying to subconsciously hide my face with a beer glass or something, it sucks. Your spot on about the eyebrows thing, I’ve had noticeable “pulling” success when I’ve had them done. I’ve used good facial wash, moisturiser and scrubs for years (product of having bad skin as a kid) and I don’t have crows feet or wrinkles like my friends.

I like your tip on removing puffiness of the face in the morning, that always gets me, wonder why that is? I shall be trying it anyhow, thanks a lot!

PS have you got any good tanning tips? Like a lot of men, I look better with a tan, period but hammering sunbeds is a sure fire way to age you prematurley, any magic potions you know of? I find most lotions stink.

First off thanks Lordharris!

For tanning tips, I must say I do not like it. I had a addiction to tanning beds and It made me look great. It made my muscles look bigger/more cut, it give more definition to my face, and most importantly it made me look like a douche. (Demon slut bitches love douches. Especially if your buff) But I stopped when I saw a story about it on CNN.

If your trying to be elegant, good looking all around subtle man, I advise not to tan. Also, during the winter months it’s a fashion-mistake, to be tan. But if you want that sun-kiss glow, I would say get a bottle of Jergen’s body-tint (10 bucks) and rub it on your body once a week. Know that it’s not gonna last long, and it will fade slowly, but it’s 100x better then looking like leather at age 35. What ever you do, DO NOT get spray tan. (Unless your doing runway/photoshoot) Spray tanning, is a thing that is left for the dumb slutty bitches to worry about. It cost a fortune (average 20 per session), and it fades unevenly on your skin. So within less then a week, you’ll look like you have a skin disorder. 10/10 of guys who I’ve seen get spray-tan, comes out with orange nails as well. It’s not pretty. TRUST ME!!

The lotion will of course have a smell to it. But just leave it on for like 4-5 hours and jump in the shower. Great

OH AND SOMEBODY POST A PICTURE! DOESN’T HAVE TO BE YOUR MUG-SHOOT JUST ANYONE’S FACE. WILL NIP/PICK ON THINGS THAT PERSON CAN CHANGE

Haha, do your research, they used FAKE BODY for filming, there’s a comparison picture where it’s obvious that his face was taped over some model’s body. Trust me, 25 pounds of muscle in 7 months without steroids is IMPOSSIBLE and anyone who believes otherwise is quite dense. :)

DUDE,

I lived in LA. I’ve visited movie/show sets. I know how the camera/video camera can work it’s magic. I’ve seen them airbrush abs. I’ve seen them inject little kids with vitamin C, so they can continue working without passing out from exhaustion. I know how fake Hollywood is. Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE when you have literally the best “help” in the world. Imagine perfect workout regime, perfect calorie intake, adequent sleep, optimum resources needed to gain in least amount of time. I remember Ryan Renolds telling Men’s health, he had to wake up 2 times at night to drink a protein shake or eat a protein bar before filming Blade trinity.

Maybe you nor I cannot gain 25 pounds of muscle mass in about 1/2 year, But when it comes to the rich and the famous/ million dollar studios, nothing is impossible. Let me say it again, When it comes to people with trench pockets, nothing is impossible.

Oh, and please do show me this comparison picture.

I’ve seen Taylor Lautner at a NFCA award show (right before filming new moon), and his body is no fake illusion.

Post your own face.

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

Yes, which typically also includes plenty of drugs, from what I hear. Without drugs most men cannot change their physiques as quickly as is needed for Hollywood productions today.

Please :donatecar to Thunder's Place to keep it running.

If your talking about expensive supplements I’m sure.

I’m talking about the same drugs (illegal) that athletes of all kinds use today. As with the athletes, there is professional supervision, making it safer and more effective than the typical gym-goer. Obviously I’m not going to be able to prove it, I’m just saying that that’s what I’ve heard.

I have been watching this thread with some degree of interest and decided I would add to it.

I am 24 years old and have somewhat of a hairy eyebrow, uni-brow problem.. Actually if I didn’t take care of it I presume that it would a very ugly problem for me but for the longest time I have been using a razor and occasionally a pair of tweezers to ‘clean-up’. I would estimate that I have to shave about once a week or more often to keep my eyebrows clean looking and even then it only helps so much. I don’t really have the patience to sit at a mirror and pluck at my eyebrows for 30 or more minutes. Not to mention I don’t even know what they ‘should’ look like.

SO last night I began looking for a local salon to help me out and after reading reviews and information about the salons I chose a place nearby and made a call to them to make an appointment on Friday afternoon to wax and/or trim my eyebrows. The call went well and I plan to show up. The whole situation still seems a little extreme but even as I look in a mirror now I can hope that things will only improve. I am actually a little nervous about it because I do not want my entire eyebrow to come off on accident. However, I assure myself that these are professionals and I have like 2 weeks for it to grow back before New Years, haha!

Anyway, I hope to tell you about the experience tomorrow night with a smile on my face. This is probably the most feminine thing I have done.. Ever, or at least in recent memory.

I do have some questions though: I am sure that after waxing my skin will be red and irritated afterward but for how long? Anyone know? Also, is there anything that I should be aware of that most people don’t think about when it comes to eyebrow waxing?

Thanks!

Don’t worry brother,

It’s nothing. Guys get their back, face, and even down under waxed all the time. Your getting your eyebrowns waxed. If you were getting your ass bleach, then that’s another story.

Flirt with the woman doing the work. She might give you a free brazilian. :)

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

To clear up more about the eyebrow’s let me say this.

I’m not telling you that they need to be perfect. I’m not telling you to go get your eyebrowns waxed. I’m telling you, no matter if your a metrosexual or a man’s man, you need to have a CLEAN CUT. (If your defense is you don’t care, then why are you readin my thread?)

Your belief of “feminine” or small eyebrowns is not what I’m trying to come cross. Your looking to clean up your overall look. Some guys do to much and it comes off as a OVERLY manicured man. I myself, don’t even want that.

To answer your question Be_peter,

Yes it will be a little irritated after the waxing. Make sure to ask for some cooling gel for some relief. If your skin is sensitive (like mine) I normally go home and put a icepack on it for 10minutes. After that, wash your face and you’ll forget about it.

Waxing should not cost MORE then 20 bucks. 10 bucks for a regular join. 16-18 bucks for a more upper scale beauty salon. Anything more then that, is a rip off.

ive been reading this thread here and there and it seems pretty cool. I think im going to try oil pulling, im just thinking about which one to use.

be_peter how did your appointment go?

does anyone have any other updates?

I’ve recently delved further into the world of shaving. I can tell anyone who hasn’t tried anything but the typical Gillette foams that shaving cream with a nice brush is far superior. I use Proraso, an Italian shaving cream, and a Boar’s hair brush. This stuff lubricates so well that aftershave is redundant. I also cover my face with a hot cloth for a few minutes before applying my shaving cream. I notice a lot of men really just by their Gillette or Edge shave gel, slop it on and rip the hair off their face, but a little extra time, and care produces more satisfying results.

I’m also considering getting an old style safety razor, or straight as many men say after you pass the learning curve a “wet shave” is far more comfortable, and easier on your skin than multiple blade razors.

Anyone else have thoughts, experiences on this matter?
