Condom timing: When do you put it on before intercourse?

Do you usually put it on before or after foreplay when the cock is soaking wet with pre cum? I’m concerned the pre cum may contain sperm that will get her pregnant even though it’s rare but still possible.

I put it on right before I’m going to penetrate the girl…

NOW: 4.3 Flaccid Length 7.0 Erect Legth

Hopefully 9 months before the baby pops out.

Progress Tracking As of 01/01/05 : 6.5 BPEL x 5.25 G As of 04/08/05 : 6.75 BPEL x 5.25 G Short Term Goal : 7 BPEL Long Term Goal : When a trip to china and getting on the great wall means hopping on my member

Pre-cum contains no viable sperm [1 , 2 ].

I don’t think I’d go very far out on that limb myself, PG.

Well, those are the only studies I can find on the topic.

The only situation in which I’d be concerned that precum contained sperm is if you had very recently ejaculated and hadn’t pissed afterwards. In that case it seems plausible that some sperm may be left in the urethra and may “hitch a ride” in the next fluid to exit (precum). The number would be pretty darn low (in the “infertile” range), but pregnancy could still potentially occur.

In any case, I’m paranoid about pregnancy, so I always combine two methods: (1) pill (or other hormonal method) & condom, (2) pill & withdrawal (I know my timing exactly and have never messed that up), or (3) condom & withdrawal (I’ve had plenty of condom mishaps, so I always pull out still).

Right before penetration.

My friend, George Costanza, prefered his partner took care of it on her end, because he would go limp with the frustration of trying to open the condom package. :homer2:

cead mile failte :lep:

I mean we pee out of the hole all the time, the only thing it contains is urine most likely. The urine would kill sperm. The cowpers is down near the base of the shaft and it lets out the precum. The cowpers makes no sperm so in theory there should be none.

But by the chance that sperm does get in there it wouldnt be a lot of sperm. The sperm would have to travel many inches to fertilize and they would most likely be killed when they enter the acidic vagina. There is no alkaline semen(i forget the word for just the prostate fluid) with it to counter the acidity. There is also no prostate fluid to provide sugar and energy for the long trip.

It is possible but unlikely. In my opinion.

I always cover my captain before penetration.

Also how is it that some guys have problems opening the condom?

The problem with counting on the theory that Cowper’s fluid (pre-cum) contains no sperm - and it does not in its own, pure form - is that your other internal reproductive organs have also their own schedules of fluid emission. If you are fucking with no protection and reach a certain level of excitement, whatever that is for you, it is inevitable that some sperm from the testes will make their way up into the places where these fluids converge from the Cowper’s, prostate, seminal vessicles, epididymus and into the urethra, without your having either an ejaculation or an orgasm. You will not have much of a clue that this has happened and if you do catch on, you will already have oozed some fertile semen.

Are you talking about ejaculation? Or are you speculating that the precum in the medical studies was from too early in the male’s arousal — i.e., that later precum does contain sperm? (You know a lot more about this stuff than I do and I’m genuinely curious… not trying to argue.)

It is so easy to go just a tad over the edge. You are fucking, you love the feeling, you keep going a split second longer that you should have without protection (condom/any kind of birth control). You do not have an orgasm, you don’t ejaculate in the sense we all know well, just a “high”, enough to get the epididymus contracting, and voila, you have viable sperm mixed with the Cowper’s fluid making its way out of the urethra.

Everybody is different. We have guys here with premature ejaculation concerns, “fast trigger” men. But even slow trigger guys can go easily One Toke Over The Line, in one stroke, to paraphrase the lirics of that wonderful song.
