Lump on testicle

Lump on testicle

It’s been there a while. It’s on my right testical (the bigger of the two). It’s on top, about the girth of a pea and feels almost like a cord that is supposed to be there. Sometimes it gets really swolen and hurts when I touch it, sometimes it’s small and doesnt hurt to touch it. Should I be worried?

I’d be worried…

You’re supposed to have two of them - one on each testical. It’s the epidydimus(don’t know if I got the spelling).

Epididymis, I think.

If they are sore go see a doctor, you may have developed a case of epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis). This is caused from colds and flues sometimes.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

I had this at one time too, and actually really freaked out.. But the doctor told me that it (forgot the name) had just swollen up, probably from pressure or something (could’ve happened in my sleep), and I just made sure I didn’t put any extra stress on it, and it went back to normal within a week.

When in doubt get to a doctor. This is your nuts we’re talking about here, man! Take care of ‘em!

Well, I do have the same thing on both. The one on the right isnt always swolen like that, just sometimes.

I know exactly what you are talking about, as I have had a ‘lump’ that matches your description for the last 24 years. It’s just at the point where the epidiyimis exits the testicle.

When it first appeared, I went to the doctor, who said it was just a cyst, but sent me to a specialist anyway. The specialist had a good poke and squeeze and said “if it’s a cyst, it should feel like fluid; if it’s hard it could be something worse. It feels a little hard, but that could just be because it’s a bit swollen”. He then put a blanket over my testicles to create darkness and stuck his head under it. He shone a small torch through the lump to see if he could see clearly through it (fluid) or if it looked solid (something worse). He decided it was fluid.

I don’t get any discomfort with it unless I knock it. Every few years, I get the doctor to check it when at ‘well man’ clinic. No problems.

I would suggest getting it checked by a doctor, for your peace of mind.

A general rule of thumb is if its painless, its not cancer, which is always reassuring. I havent seen/heard any exceptions to this, but that doesnt mean its a cast iron rule.

I’d go to the doctor. I had an ever-increasing lump on one of my testicles just over 2 years ago, they sent me for an ultrascan (I think thats what it was called anyway). They told me it wasnt cancer, but also told me they didnt know what it was. Not helpful, and since then, its gone, reppeared, and gone again, not sure why, but I tend to ignore it these days.

But definately go to a doctor, for peace of mind and to be on the safe side. Let us know how it turns out.

I went through a period of intense pain in the epididymis a few years back, lasting a few months in total. It coincided with my becoming acquainted with the epididymis for the first time. I just kept on touching it, and squeezing it because I liked its shape and feel. Once I stopped gropping myself, the pain eventually subsided.

Had the same thing a few years back. I went to the urologist and he said it was an inflammation (forgot the clinical term) that is common in people who have had vasectomies. The strange thing is I never had a vasectomy. He said to try not to aggravate it and it will go away - which it did. Still, you cannot go wrong by seeing a doctor.

I have had a lump on my testicle for years. I found it and got it looked at and the doc said it was just a tiny fluid sack and not to worry. It doesn’t hurt at all so I just leave it alone. But I felt much better after the ultrasound confirmed his suspicions.

You all are still missing the point... The story was great and all but should have ass (and) some anal in it.- RWG
