Pump, Inguinal hernia surgery

How long to layoff pumping after inguinal hernia surgery

Three months.

I don’t like it but I’ll have to do it.

I have the same condition and am waiting for surgery to correct it. I had it for about 9 months before realizing it was something that needed to be checked by a doctor. The doctor said it wasn’t a serious condition but, if left untreated, could lead to obstruction of the bowel, which would be a medical emergency. Because of that she advised surgery. I have no idea how the condition came about. The doctor said it was common in older men and could be as simple as abdominal muscles contracting when coughing or sneezing. I am curious about the advice to stop pumping for 3 months post surgery. Presumably this is because of the surgical stitches and allowing tissue healing. At the moment I am pumping 3 or 4 days a week, but maybe I need to reconsider this.

If you can lift big weights, you can pump. But the safe answer is leave it 3 months. :)

Irishjim I’ve had mine for a long time, it would come and go for about 9 months, now it’s coming more than going.I’m scheduled for surgery in 3 weeks and md. Says expect pain first 3 days and recovery about 4 weeks.
