Refractory Period...any ways to reduce?

When I was like 15 I could have sex time after time after time to no end.

Right now I’m 22 (still not old) and it takes me 30 minutes, sometimes an hour to get an erection again, if it is possible at all. I don’t think I have an erectile issue since I have no problem getting it up and keeping it up in the first time. The second time I want to have sex with my girlfriend I try kegelling, have her suck my dick, jerk me off, anything and it just lays limp. I’ve even tried jelqing myself a little but the blood will just not stay in.

I’m starting Nox2 by Pinnacle to try to combat this issue. I’ve heard stories of good gains in erection strength, hopefully it will help me with my refractory period.

it’s really troubling for me considering that I am only 22 and I have a hot girl who wants it in the ass right in front of me. :( Anyone have similiar experiences or suggestions for ways to reduce the refractory period? if I do not cum the first time and then take a break will I be more likely to get it up the second time? I appreciate any feedback :)

I don’t know about exercises or whatever, but Viagra eliminated the refractory period comlpetely for me, and Cialis reduces it to about a minute.

I’m not familiar with Cialis, but Viagra for one is a bit out of my price range, as a student. :( I haven’t heard of Cialis, is this a similiar prescription drug?

Ahhh, my 20’s. They were delightful. I was cumming like a champ. 5 ejaculations in one session, many times and still(I fear it’ll never be broken now) my personal record. Oh well. But even than, there was often a 1/2 hour between hardons.

machtenx, I wouldn’t worry about it. Hell, 22!!, you’ve got a million orgasms ahead of you. I certainly wouldn’t be taking Viagra at your age to hasten your down time.

Now, when I’m feeling like a nice long fuck, I will climax several times without ejaculating. Last night after going at for awhile, I just had to have some release and so I climaxed, and 15 minutes later came again, this time ejaculating. It’s a good thing to learn how to do.

I’ve heard climaxing without ejaculating is not healthy for you because the sperm is trapped in the epidimus (sp.?) or something instead of being expelled. Is there any truth to this? I’ve just been reading about guys who can keep going or start again after 10 minutes, and I’d like to be like that, but maybe that’s not realistic for me. Good to know that not everyone is a superhuman ejaculating freak :)

machtenx,

I’ve been doing this for a long time, years, certainly not every time I fuck, but still quite a bit. No matter how many times I climax, I still finish with ejaculating. The orgasms are just like ones with ejaculating but no showers of cum.

mach,

Yeah, same kinda thing but lasts longer in your system.

I remember a thread called ‘delaying ejaculation’, do a search for that and SS4Jelq and it should come up. That could be useful.

Thanks SS, will do!

machtenx;

Our refractory periods are ruled by prolactin output. Ejaculalation signals the production of it. Although prolactin is relatively short-acting, as we age we tend to produce more of it so the effect is longer. In terms of sexual stamina even the short time span between age 15 and age 22 can make an enormous difference in refractory period.

One thing you can do is have a simple blood test done by your doctor to measure your average prolactin levels. If they are in the normal range then leave it alone. If high, prolactin can be lowered.

It can help to take a short nap after you cum. In 20 minutes you just might be ready to go again.

avocet8, I’ve been reading your posts for years and you are very articulate and knowledgeable about a wide range of things. Are you a medical doctor?

Is the prolactin blood test something that needs to be done after ejaculation or is it a test that can be done at any time? I think I’ll try to find out what foods/supplements if any can reduce this evil “prolactin.”

Thanks avocet!

A couple of us were looking at the Rx Dostinex for such a purpose.

Here’s some threads related to that:

Thanks, Larry. And nope, I’m not a doctor.

Years ago I developed ED, primarily because of a medication I had been taking (and I was getting older, too). I determined to beat it, as it were, and set about learning as much as I could about male physiology, erectile function, and the rest of it. I’ve talked with literally thousands of men with ED since and interviewed a whole lot of ED specialists along the way.

After I got my own ED under control (I will always have some degree of it) I decided that sex was something not to be taken for granted any more, by me, and began fine-tuning and tweaking to become a better lover and also to make the sensations more intense for myself. It has become a very fun hobby.

There are so many sexual tricks to learn. This forum is especially good for that because we can be really candid here together, without embarrassement. And there is a whole lot of knowledge among our membership. I am always learning new things from you guys.

Enough already. This is machtenx’s thread and we need to figure out how to get him up again sooner.

The test can be done anytime and probably better if you haven’t ejaculated just a short time before because that would throw off your PSA levels, too. You’d be looking to find out your normal blood prolactin level. Very high prolactin can screw up other hormonal functions. Very high prolactin is not all that common, anyway.

Prolactin is not necessarily evil. It is a regulatory chemical with important functions other than just dampening erections. Do a Google search of Prolactin.

Think about it. If we could fuck and cum and fuck and cum and fuck and cum as long as we wanted, a whole lot of important human functions would very soon get sidetracked. And, our wives and partners would get real tired of us coming on to them. And the mortgage payment would be more often late than on time, and maybe we couldn’t even pay it because our bosses would fire us for sleeping on the job. And our prostates and seminal vessicles would become inflammed….

Not sure if this is an option for you machtenx, but nowadays, instead of trying to shorten my refractory period, I put my efforts into not coming at all until she’s done.
