SSRI's vs. Viagra for Premature Ejaculation

SSRI's vs. Viagra for Premature Ejaculation

So I was prescribed clomipramine 25 mg (it’s a SSRI medication) awhile back for premature ejaculation - and it works alright but has many side effects on me. Anyway they also prescribed viagra 10 mg as well because SSRI’s are known to depress sexual exhibitions. I noticed that the viagra does a way better job preventing ejaculation (~3 - 5 min SSRI vs. 30+ min viagra) then the SSRI did. Anyone else feel this way or have opinions on this matter?

Does insurance cover viagra/cialis medication? I’m all worried about blowin’ my load quick and therefore don’t chase tail when I could have this problem solved temporarily with some cialis (I hear cialis is better than viagra).

Thanks,

Dark

Hmmm, no one?

It’s worth noting that SSRIs and Viagra/Cialis have a synergistic effect in delaying ejaculation. You may want to try the ED drug alone.

Edit: Just did a search. that’s not an SSRI, it’s a Tricyclic. The above statement may not be true.

Clomipramine - Wikipedia
Says it is a tricylic (which are older drugs) and not an SSRI technically, but still an anti-depressant.

Tricyclic antidepressant - Wikipedia
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor - Wikipedia

The believed reason why SSRIs work for some people is that they seem to fit a profile of a certain histamine polarization category (high), while the opposite end (Low) turbocharges symptoms and conditions. It is thought that high histamine people have low serotonin and by tinkering with it, it brings the histamine down to a more equilibrium-like level. Of course all these views are very far from mainstream medicine.
