Testicular cancer, losing a pelota, effects?

Congrats, Gator. You must be so-o-o-o-o effing relieved! Now you can get one with your life.

Wonderful news Gator. I am sooooooo relieved. I lost my brother to cancer and it is a terrible disease to deal with. Many people survive it nowadays but it remains a long war.

I only saw this thread today and I am glad as the suspense would have driven me crazy.

Really glad you’re ok.

Thanks for all of your nice comments guys.

I’m sorry to hear about your brother Kabous.

Successfully underwent replacement surgery today. I’m swollen and will be for a day or two, so I can’t really assess how it feels or looks. But everything with the procedure went well this morning. I still wish I could have selected the size though. Damn :)

Awesome, dude! I know what it feels like.

I also got a painful lump once in a place where you really don’t want a lump (tongue) and some doctors thought it might be cancer. They removed it and it wasn’t! Took a few months before I could speak properly again though :) .

Congratulations. Here’s to a speedy recovery and to getting back in the game. Good luck, man!

Gator. Congrats on being cancer free. I haven’t read through the whole thread yet so this may have already been said, but it is my understanding that when one testicle is removed the other one works overtime to make up for the loss. Your sperm count may even improve. Also, I don’t understand why they could not do the biopsy without removing the testicle? Sorry if the question is redundant.

I think they do it just to be on the safe side since testicular cancer can be quite vicious and spread fast, from what I’ve understood.

Yeah, exactly. Trust me, I asked several times. But the biopsy carries a very high risk of spreading the malignant cells if the cancer is present. It was a risk I was not willing to take.

Good news, Gator. I read somewhere that Richard Belzer of Law and Order SVU fame is a testicular cancer survivor and has done quite well for himself with only one ball. Keep up the good work’
