My questions are:
1. Can I do this every day for 1 hour or is it actually too much and should I take rest?
2. Sometimes I notice that my glans is very white and swollen after 1 hour of this process, is this normal when vacuum hanging?
The goal is to make gains with the least weight possible and only increase weight when gains slow/stop. It’s not a race to the heaviest weight you can manage.
For reference, I started at 2lbs, and moved up in 1lb increments every 7 hanging sessions until I got to 5lbs. From there, I added a pound every 14 sessions until I got up to 10lbs. It took me around 3 months to get up to 10lbs. Your penis needs that time to get conditioned for the heavier weights.
I continued until I got up to 25lbs (Tom Hubbard design hanger). I don’t recommend going that high. I was chasing heavier weights back then, and while my hanger was fine, to say it was uncomfortable is an understatement. Not really painful.. But right on the edge between discomfort and pain. My penis was conditioned like a mofo, but at those weights, it doesn’t really matter much. The first set was usually okay, but set 2 and 3 (20 minute sets) were VERY uncomfortable. I don’t think I needed to go that high because I saw most of my gains in the 10-15lb range.
I don’t have access to my notes right now, but if I remember right, 80% of my gains came before 15lbs. The last 20% came from 15lbs-25lbs. I could have saved myself a lot of time by cementing at 15lbs, deconditioning, and coming back at 5lbs, working back up to 15lbs to get that last 20%. Maybe I wouldn’t get the full 20% - let’s say I only got 10% more. That’s still better than hanging 25lbs lol! And I could’ve cemented, deconditioned and came back for the rest.
My advice is to go slowly on increasing weight - try to exhaust gains at each weight before adding more - work up to around 12-15lbs and when the gains slow down, it’s time to cement your gains and take a deconditioning break (mine are usually a couple of months at least). After a break, 5lbs will feel super heavy again and you can start back at the lower weight.
