Hi guys,

I’m fairly new around here and have just been browsing threads for a few days now. I’m seeking some feedback with regard to what I’ve been doing, and what you all might suggest. I’ve done jelqing on and off (mostly off) for a couple years now - honestly about two or three sessions per month - until recently when I invested in a Bathmate and have started exercising consistency in my.. Well, exercising. The routine I have been using from early January until recently looks like this.

Day 1: Hot wrap with wet rag (5-10 mins), jelqing (~200 strokes in sets of 50), Bathmate (15 mins, close to max BPEL)
Day 2: Hot wrap with wet rag (5-10 mins), jelqing (~300 strokes in sets of 50), NO Bathmate
Day 3: Same as Day 1
Day 4: Rest
*Repeat*

My two primary questions: What is your overall opinion of this routine, and would you recommend any changes? And I consistently get edema after Bathmate use which lasts for several hours; how can I mitigate this?

With regard to the edema question, I did see a thread on here several days ago in which a moderator recommended the Bathmate be used at less than BPEL (I think it was to aim for approximately 70%), and to leave it on for 30 minutes with less pressure. I have done this for two sessions now, and the pressure is so little that it causes me no discomfort whatsoever. However, I still get edema after using it.

not too warm water and shorter BM sessions. Its better to do 3 times 5 minutes then all at once. At least when it comes to edema.

Jelqing kind of can help to get rid of edema.

So you might think of: (100 jelqs then 5 minute BM) *3

with all respect to the mod using it below BPEL might be a good thing to switch things up but using a 100% erection to pump has more impact IMO.

I see, so that’s the purpose for the five-minute sessions. I might try going back and forth between BM and jelqing like you said.

Any other input on this?

Check out Vacuum Pumping 101. Unfortunately your don’t have a pump with a pressure gauge but hopefully you can reduce the pressure as well as reducing the time, asdickerschwanz suggests.

Yes, bathmate works best with short pumping sets, 2-5 minutes..

I have done all time related figures with my bathmate and I always come down to shorter sets.

I just using bathmate as an amplifier these days and mostly focus on jelqing that will get better results than what the bathmate will get.

But it is perfect to use as an warmup & warmdown/ cooldown tool :-)

So you’ve had more success from standard jelqing? What sort of routine do you stick with in terms of reps and additional things like stretching?

I do more exercises than jelqing! I have a split routine with a 30 minutes stretching session in the morning and a 30 minutes girth session in the evening, that I sometimes use my bathmate as an amplifier. And mostly iI use it in my jelqing session..

Update.

This evening, I switched up my routine a bit.

5 minutes warmup in BM with hot water and very, very low suction
Jelq, 50 reps
5 minutes BM with strong suction
Jelq, 50 reps
5 minutes BM with strong suction
Jelq, 50 reps
5 minutes BM with strong suction
Jelq, 50 reps

I noticed NO enema this time around, and the usual contraction that usually occurs after the thick, floppy stage following a BM session never occurred; I stayed at a pretty respectable hanging flaccid size, even after an hour at the gym later on. This may be my new routine.

Question regarding the BM though.. Recently I’ve noticed that the little black tip at the end doesn’t seem to want to retract on its own when I’m initially building up pressure. I have to manually press it back in every time I pump the unit against my body, whereas before this extra little trick was not necessary. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or should I report it as a faulty unit and get a replacement? I’ve only had it for two months.
