Best Mediums in PE
I’ve considered making this thread for quite sometime but never have, outside of mentioning it in random threads. However I think its worth discussing and having a dedicated thread for others to share their thoughts as well, as yet another recent post by another member reminded me of this topic.
I want to cover what im going to call "Mediums" in PE. Also known as the oils, lubes, creams, lotions used in all facets of PE from massaging, jelqing or general skin care. I think this subject gets touched on every so often in threads dedicated to other topics, but is generally underwhelming as not much discussion revolves around the topic, at least to an extremely deep extent. However i think its worth discussing, as there are without a doubt mediums that are better than others or provide specific benefits to specific things that others may not, and can be helpful for someone who has been using a 2 dollar bottle of perfumed lotion on their member everyday and is looking for an alternative.
Im going to start of this thread with a personal favorite of mine and a long time advocate of…
Olive Oil
The Jist
So something Ive been doing for quite some time and have yet to see discussed in great detail is the use of olive oil in PE, specifically warm olive oil.
For about the last year - year and a half Ive started using warm olive oil somewhat regularly for almost everything. I use the warm oil for warming-up, cooling-down, jelqs and even as the "lube" for my pumping. Now i see so many people discuss coconut oil, which has been a pretty standard go to in sexual activities even outside of PE, but ive never seen really any discussion on the benefits of olive oil outside of my own which I find strange.
The Facts
Olive oil has been used for centuries throughout history as a natural skin care remedy, and is still used to this day as a base in many skin care products. Mainly because olive oil has been shown to help hydrate skin, repair moderate trauma to the skin, provide anti-oxidant effects, and provide vitamins and nutrients to the skin. This article (Herb & Hedgerow ยป For people who love & make botanical skincareOlive Oil - Natural Beauty throughout History - Herb & Hedgerow) does a great job of going through the history of olive oil and its uses in the skin care industry, and its benefits, along with citations for fact-checking. It also provides some counter arguments to olive oil, as with anything it doesn’t work for everyone and some peoples skin may not react well to the fat-heavy oil.
This is another interesting research done to show that olive oil had an amazing benefit when applied to skin that had been exposed to long tearm UBV light. (Protective effect of topically applied olive oil against photocarcinogenesis following UVB exposure of mice | Carcinogenesis | Oxford Academic)
The Good
If olive oil is able provide good vitamins and nutrients to the skin as well as help heal trauma to the skin this would make for an amazing medium to be applied in PE. Most of the workouts such as hanging, pumping, and extending are all fairly rough on the skin. Which can untimely dry out and damage the skin or even in some cases cause discoloration or other adverse trauma. Were all aware of this as there are entire threads dedicated to users applying over the counter creams or iodine daily to deal with a wide array of issues. Which I believe olive oil can help with before it gets to that point.
The benefit here is that olive oil is extremely easy to get a hold of and its cheap. Not only that but it makes for great all around medium for exercises. As mentioned above I use it for warming-up, as lube when pumping, and as lube when jelqing. Since its a viscus, high-fat oil it stays slick for a very long time, for example with jelqs a tablespoon of olive-oil can last for a solid 15-30 minutes before needing to be re-applied. And again since it has a high-fat content it tends to hold heat well, whether that is through warming it before hand or through the heat naturally applied while exercising (and heat is always good).
The Anecdotal
From my experience ive noticed when i consistently apply olive oil my skin feels much plumper and softer. This may be extremely placebo, but because of this my member generally feels much fuller for the hours after applying the oil. For example; if i were to take a shower right now, and do some moderate massaging and stretching, dry off and go about my day. Id have a decent hang for maybe 30 minutes after from the temporary blood-flow to my area before it subsided and eventually retreated to its normal relaxed state. However when i do the same with olive oil, i feel like my body holds the fullness and blood-flow for a considerable time longer. But i digress, since again this could easily be placebo, but enough so ive kept up the use of olive oil in my routines since i first discovered it.
The DIY
If your interested in trying yourself i strongly suggest getting some ‘Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ and warming a couple tablespoons in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute. Once the oil is at a good temperature apply a moderate amount to your member and massage the oil into your skin. This is a good time to do some jelqing exercises as well. Once your finished simply dab any excess oil away with a paper towl. Just be sure to find a happy medium between drying it all away, and being soaked in olive oil.
The End
Anyways im hopefully that a few more members here will try incorporating olive oil with their exercises and comment on there perception of it as a medium for PE. I Also want this thread to be a place where people can discuss other mediums they use and why such as coconut oil, or sunflower seed oil. I think it would be interesting if we could have collection of defacto’ standards for mediums in PE that we can generally agree on being the go to to use.
