Cautious approach and routine, couple questions

Cautious approach and routine, couple questions

Hey all!
I’m trans non-binary and am taking the winter to start getting more comfortable in my body. Sorting through and organizing clothes, starting an exercise routine, eating better, and also giving PE a shot.

So for my PE routine, I’m trying my best to be cautious. I’m starting with 6.2” BPEL and 4.7” girth, and I’m really only interested in modest gains- my goal is 6.5-6.7 BPEL and anywhere above 5” for girth. I’m thinking of working my way up to about half the newbie routine and holding there for awhile. My main question is will it be enough to make any sort of difference? And also, does anyone have experience working with a reduced routine like this?
I’m also planning to throw a few supplements in to support the tissue changes. Any recommendations there?

I started today and will keep this thread updated as best I can.
Many thanks!

I don’t know what trans nonbinary is. It really doesn’t matter. This is safe and encouraging place for everyone. Welcome aboard!

The only way to know is start. Everyone responds differently. After you start you’ll learn when to add more.

Thank you! And I’ve garnered as much. This community seems to have avoided any pitfalls of transphobia or toxic masculinity and that’s big.
And I’m hopeful! I haven’t been too concerned with my size thus far in life, but still, I can’t deny I’d feel more comfortable with a few gains. Being so close to my desired measurements already has definitely motivated me to give this a shot. My hope is that by aiming for something reasonable and playing it safe, I can achieve what I want without overdoing it.
Thanks again for the welcome!

I’m a newbie too. I had to decrease my routine and I am gaining so far. I say try it out, definitely better to be safe than sorry and you can slowly add more when you’re ready. If you’re like me and read a lot of posts, you’ll read a lot that this is a long process so start slow and work your way up.

Cheers

I will thank you! Right now I’m doing 5 minutes hot wrap, stretches, 50 jelqs, 3 minutes hot wrap, 50 more, then 5 minutes back on the heat to close out.

Thanks for the response! Nice to hear gains are still possible with a reduced routine, and that you’ve got a good one going. Definitely going to take it slow, for sure.

Honestly, any beginner thread that mentions being cautious is off on the right start. Just go slow and learn to listen to your body. PE itself never hurt anybody: It’s the misuse of it that does.

Hi!
Yes be cautious. You are working your way up to about a half of the “newbie routine”……. What if doing only a half of the Newbie Routine will bring great results? This might be that “sweet spot” for you because everybody is different. As you will become seasoned PEr you will realise that Less is More, but less is more when you are doing it correctly. Using heat and proper warm up its super necessary and despite doing only a half of the Newbie routine , having proper warm up and heat source …..with a discipline it really might yield good gains. Not everyone react to the same routine, some gain with less work, some gain with more work. Speaking from my own experience ill say your approach is perfect. Start easy, monitor EQ and fatigue, start a PE journal, be patient……
There were days when i was going overboard and doing too much work and you know what? A few of my veins hardened. Not good. All because i was “greedy” and not patient. Thankfully it all went away but i learned from it.
Btw ill add this….lets say a person is doing alot of PE….alot of either weight while hanging, too much pressure when pumping etc…..it might bring good results for a short period of time but……. but if an injury happens or thrombosis then its time to stop….stop for 1 month…2….3…maybe 6 months. Hopefully after time off the injury will heal and the PE can be resumed….but time was lost, there was no progress. So its better to start slow, avoid injury, figuring out what works and keep gaining. Less is more. Lol ok ok im rambling :D
Good luck!

Quick update!

I started on December 19th when I first posted, and after about a week had a minor injury (just felt some pain around a nerve) so I took the rest of the month off.

This month I started by lowering my routine to just 70 slower jelqs to avoid pushing it and have been successful so far.

This coming week I plan to bump up to 90 and then back to 100 soon after.

Still figuring things out, honestly, but feeling pretty good! I started taking vitamin C and butchers broom for some basic support about a week ago. Haven’t noticed any particular changes from that but it’s helpful psychologically.

Oh, and I’m on a one day on, one day off schedule for now, which feels comfortable and pretty safe.

Wishing y’all the best!

I’m right there with you on still figuring things out.

This is an exploration and a team effort.

Well done on listening to your body, starting slow and taking time off when things don’t feel right.

We got this!

Everyone is pretty cool in Our Thunders Community and the Moderators do a good job of keeping things in check. Everyone is welcome as long as they play by the rules and are respectful.

Your goals are very obtainable.
Use heat before/during/after each PE secession.
Do a search and learn about PIs, Physiological Indicators. Be consistent and your journal will help keep you on track. Drink lots of water. Great that you are thinking about all aspects of your well being.

Most importantly, enjoy your PE Journey.
